This decision was of a basically political and religious nature, traitors make plans and gather in the cafe and tavern to make their tarraitions of 2 easier. According to some religious ulama, tobacco was prohibited because it is bad for your health and makes it easier for you to consume other drugs and alcohol. .. which are according to the Muslims a sin

What kind of corruption includes drinking coffee
@ibrahimrahi5388
@ibrahimrahi5388 2 жыл бұрын
@@demigodtherapper483 Actually there are many acceptable or inappropriate reasons behind the ban of coffee. Firstly we have to think it by the mentality of the 17th century,not 21th century. People gathered coffee shop and they spent so much time in unnecessary gossiping instead of giving time to their family or workplace. Because of the wastage of time, they started to neglect their prayer (Salat). Again because of drinking coffee, they stayed up whole night. But Almighty Allah mentioned in the Quran that "it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest..." (Surah Furqan:47). For these reasons , the islamic scholars and experts didn't like coffee at all. As the Ottoman empire was an islamic caliphate, the ruler had to give priority the wish of Sheikh-Al-Islam ( Highest Islamic Scholar). During the reign of Murad lV, rebellion was a common matter of the empire and it gradually destroyed the state. Coffee shop was the best place for the revolters to set a plan for rebellion. That's why, the sultan banned coffee. Hope you've got it,my brother.

@@ibrahimrahi5388 oh got it bro.... Is it still haram to drink coffee?
@ibrahimrahi5388
@ibrahimrahi5388 2 жыл бұрын
@@demigodtherapper483 I think an islamic scholar knows this well. But according to my little knowledge, there is no evidence in Quran or even Hadith that stands directly against coffee. So we can't say coffee haram for us. Because there is no alcoholic or any haram elements in coffee. Nowadays many muslims drink coffee. But one think should be remembered that if one is got addicted and drunk for drinking coffee, it will be haram for him.

I mean Murad was a bit of a lunatic. He used to sit by the water on his Palace and take shots at boatmen with his bow. @@nahiyanalamgir7056 No, I don't think so. An unjust law is a law only by name and can be morally disregarded, though one should be prepared to shoulder the consequences. And the law was indeed about killing all people that drank coffee. Even if you think that coffee is a drug (which it technically indeed is), to make such a law is lunacy. @@johnsinclair4621 I think our difference lies here. If people would "judge" laws and chose not to follow laws they considered unjust, we'd be in a turmoil today. Morality is subjective. Its not uncommon for a ruler to do something like this, as in disguising as a commoner amongst the people, as an Islamic empire, this practice was done by many Islamic Caliph, the most notable amongst them was the 2nd Caliph of Islam, Umar ibn Al Khattab, he would travel by himself to serve the common people with their needs, and checking who was breaking the law, without revealing that he was the Caliph of the Muslims, and many other Caliph follow his example after him such as the Caliph of the Umayyad Dynasty, Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, and Caliph of the Abbasid Dynasty, Haroon al Rashid

Islam not barbaric? What rock have you been under? It's no less barbaric than the Christian religions. But if the sultan the most powerful figure in all the land sees you taking a bribe you're done. Finished. This wasn't some third or fourth or fifth account I heard somebody say or I heard somebody do but it was a Sultan himself. Then on top of that you insult the sultan? I'm not of the Islam religion but I have respect for people in high places and you don't just go insulting rulers.

Why would he do that when he can just order it to come to him in his palace?
