The idea of four girls who are best friends who get powers based on the elements sounds kinda like a fun idea but then the rest of it happens.

+islamroks11 Actually _The Elementals_ by Bill Willingham (though it only featured two of the four members as females) is the book which iconic-ally did this. There was also _Femforce_ which was an all female super team but they were not based on elemental powers.

I love how not only does Brodsky publish SEVERAL books on the subject of getting women to do what you want, but one of those books involves black magic. Seems to me that if you need to invoke the dark arts in lieu of doing everything ELSE these books suggest, they don't really seem like they'd be the solution to your problems like every OTHER book out there is trying to sell itself as. lol

I am probably the biggest collector of bad (and some good) 1980s black and white comic books commenting on your videos. I own both issues of _Sultry teenage Super-Foxes_ as well as most other Solson books and thoroughly enjoyed your reviews of them. Rich Buckler was a decent artist (compared to most who drew B&W indie comics back in the 80s) who also did work at Marvel (on Avengers IIRC) and Archie/Red Circle (Mighty Crusaders etc.) and was criticized even then for some things he did. Having said that you REALLY need to give a look to the books written by Kris Silver of _Silverwolf_ and _Greater Mercury Comics_ infamy if you think Sultry teenage...was bad. The reviews of Silver's books almost write themselves as he was widely considered to be the 'Ed Wood' of comic creators back in the 80s and 90s. ANY of his books are laughably atrocious but his most popular was a book called _Grips_, the title character of which was a sort of lazy combination of _The Punisher_ and _Wolverine_ and got a lot of attention at the time, primarily because of the artwork by Tim Vigil (later of _Faust_ fame).

it's a long shot, but I think the concept could have worked a little better if the characters were actual foxes (either mutant Fox women, or Fox girls in a world of anthro animal people). and if it had actual humor. and if they had personality beyond all four of them being the same boy obsessed air head. hell even giving them the personalities of the ninja turtles would have been something!! you know, with characters like supergirl and she-hulk over the years, and all the comics trying to copy the success of tmnt for a while, I'm surprised nobody tried making an all girl team of animal heroes. can you imagine a comic starring a team of elemental vulpine magical girls fighting space vampires, ideally with better writing and humor, could have made more money than this! at the very least it would have a......aaah, dedicated niche fanbase :)

Honestly, I think i would have given the story more credit if they did indeed start out only thinking about boys, etc, but after getting their powers, they realized that they could actually make a difference and got excited for that. you can even have the trope of all the military guys either getting excited for female heroins (who can't admit their identities for reasons) and the girls have to try and balance their relationship wants with the responsibility of having to save people, or because the girls have found something more fulfilling than pining after every guy they see. they learn to value more out of a relationship other than "ooh that guy is hot" and end up turning down all the pilots who are just going "ooh sexy ladies" would have been a cool usurption to start the book out going "look at sexy ladies" and then end up with it turning around and going "that's not actually what we're here for, and neither should you, we have actual introspection to have"

BTIsaac I just read your comment again. What is so "troll" about this?

BTIsaac Ohh, I see now. I guess that makes sense, the problem is... Fairy Tail is really REALLY bad. One of the worst (i'll clarify now (like an idiot) that I havent read the manga, but stay with me mate) anime i've seen. Ultimately harmless though. I honestly just thought he wanted some free likes out of bashing a famous shitty series (like people do with twilight). Now, some things are popular and shit (transformer movies). I'll say this though, it does makes you feel like the "straight" man when you dislike something popular (at least to me). I dislike Deadpool (the movie not the character), I played the videogame, it was pretty funny, saw an animated movie where he appears, funny too. The movie? To me, it sucks, like... a lot. "Center of the universe" not gonna lie, I love that concept. You are your center, as I am mine. It is all about perspective. Everyone is the protagonist of their own life, you can say that is selfish and it is, but I cant really imagine it being different. Thinking about it, I probably come of as an asshole before. I voice my opinion against famous things more often than against unpopular things.

BTIsaac One of the worst that I saw, not universally. But SAO it's number 2 worst that I saw, and it is incredibly famous. Number 1 is Genocyber. Also, im pretty ignorant when it comes to anime, I only know the basics.

Who's John Norman?
@2wingo8 жыл бұрын
+Max Bennie Dr. John Frederick Lange, Jr., aka John Norman, writer of the "Gor" series of fantasy novels. His fiction places emphasis on living in accordance with a Nietzschean natural order, supporting a hierarchy of talent. He uses this hierarchy as a framework to analyze differences in society, and he contends that the woman is by nature a submissive helper of the dominant man. Norman's work often takes this observation literally: heroes enslave heroines who, upon being enslaved, revel in the discovery of their natural place.

2wingo Well... that doesn't sound very nice!

Max Bennie It isn't. His books also espouse a "the strong should despise and dominate the weak" philosophy.

2wingo Have you read any yourself? Sounds like a pretty uncomfortable read.

Max Bennie I haven't, and I don't have any desire to.
