Idk if you're aware but their final album will be a double album. One leamong towards their metal side and another more pop punk. So I believe we'll get to see a bit of everything Sum41 has ever released, I'm excited

Banger of a song, classic Sum 41 sound super catchy. Will be jamming this in the car for awhile. Btw they said this final album is split into half pop punk throwback and half newer edgier stuff so everyone gets what they like between the older and newer sound of theirs. Grats on the wife Nath!

I love this song and it is absolutely Sum 41 at their finest I feel! Real shame you guys aren't into it but that's the beauty of music. Can be the greatest thing ever for someone and meh for another. Personal preference. 😅

Yeah, as you say, it can feel different to each person. To me it feels like an identity / mid life crisis. Their last 2 albums were pretty uninspired and this feels like "guess we'll play pop punk, it's trendy now". It's very behind the curve trying to chase the trends. They once were on top of their game, super creative and going in their own direction. This is... bland, generic, soul-less.

@@MartinJurusThey’ve played Pop Punk throughout their whole career 😂.
@MartinJurus Жыл бұрын
@@KevinQ25 well, mostly! The first album is a pop punk gen, the farther you go it gets more heavy and unique, with Screaming Bloody Murder being the perfect bland. Since then it's not very good.

First and foremost, congratulations Nathan on the wedding! We all hope the best for you and your wife! Second. I've been waiting for you guys to do this song. I've already heard it, but I wanted a second opinion from 2 guys who I love and respect, so I'm glad you're doing it now.

I really love the song tbh. And to be clear: I love Dimmu Borgir as well. The lyrics were a real grown up version of the angsty teen songs that much of the early pop punk stuff got away with. Mix down is done very well.

Since Blink is dropping their new album in a week, we need Good Charlotte to drop that new album they recorded with Noah Sebastian. We only got one song a few years ago

CONGRATS NATHAN!!! Also, i really enjoyed this song, it was classic Sum 41 for me and reminded me of why I fell in love with this band in the first place. “Im not sure why we broke up, it was the best that I’ve had” I WISH THEY WOULDNT BREAK UP AS A BAND:(

I love the El Camino features heavily, and if you saw the OG No Filler All Killer, they stopped beside a car full of girls who were singing to them, and they hastily water gunned the shit out of them, so thats a massive call back, I love Sum and love this may be there final album, and I'm ok with it.

This is a catchy song sing along. The drum rolls where pretty fire they had a transition and slowed it down I think it’s a good little song. Double album Heaven and Hell. This song is from Heaven which is a throwback sound and Hell will be heavier side

The verses sound like Mr. Brightside by The Killers lol
@nolankuffner3573 Жыл бұрын
The sound is distinctly the old pop punk style where the metal bits were surprising. Considering they've done A LOT of metal heavy albums lately, I think it's smart to try and pull in the fans that heard stuff like In Too Deep and didn't vibe as much with the metal side of their catalogue. For me personally, I agree with Johnny, but I wouldn't ask them to abandon the poppier stuff, just because I know tons of people that like that side to them and would listen to them again if that was the case.

CHUCK really shreds. Great album. I did not mind this, but yeah, lacking the hard edged guitars. I thought the drums stood out a bit esp in 2nd half.

I agree that the song was just good, nothing great. I also prefer their more edgy stuff, although their first two albums which were still more oop punk leaning were awesome. I agree with Nate, their sound is special when they do it at peak form! And their last album was awesome, we will get a bit of both since the last album will be a double album, one more popish leaning punk and the other more metal
@badattitudeofficial2656 Жыл бұрын
My god, sum 41 really got themselves in trouble when they decided to mix pop punk and metal. And if there are two genres that kinda cringe each other more than punk and metal are pop punk and metal. I'm from that part of the audience that prefers their pop punk stuff. I don't know where that audience is. All sum 41 fans seem to be metal fans now. I like the hardcore sound but the guitar solos are boring to me in general, sorry (there are some exceptions). And BY FAR I prefer Landmines to More than you know from blink. Same thing, not that that's a bad song, but I'm unapologetically for a pure fun and unpretentious pop punk song. Especially when is as well written as this one. Deryck is an amazing songwriter and lyricist. Anyway, I'm more than glad that at least there's gonna be literally an album for both the pop punk and the metal gang.
