The original version sounded like an axiety of a young guy who doesn't know how to live. This one sounds like sorrow of an adult man who has seen way too much in this world, who is tired and almost completely exhausted, but keeps moving on.

Honestly my favorite acoustic album for 2020 would be from the band IMMINENCE and their "Turn The Light On: Acoustic Reimagination" album that released on January 10th, 2020. I have listened to that album SO MANY times!! Eddie Berg's expressive voice mixed with the amazing acoustic accompaniment, and deeply emotional lyrics is incredibly powerful. Anyone that comes across this, pleas check out Imminence!! "Turn The Light On" on its own is a dynamic set of 13 marvelous tracks, and the acoustic reimagination hits you in the feels even harder. I'm so glad that a close friend of mine recommended their music to me last year!!

Hopefully you listen to more of their music, they have been around since I was in grade 6 so lots to listen to. I remember the first Japanese song I heard was Super Drive by Yosuke Sakanoue . Perfume is one of my favourite Japanese groups to listen to today. If you enjoy Sum 41 some other bands you may enjoy are Blink 182, Billy Talent, and The Offspring

God damn, I honestly expected it too basically sound exactly like how they did Hell Song Acoustic either 2016 or 2017, but I wasn't expecting this masterpiece at all. I actually can't wait to hear how the more hard rock songs have been altered now, I'd be interested to hear 'Heads Will Roll' or 'No Reason' in this sort of style. Wasn't too bothered before but I love this version of the song so much that I agree that there needs to be an album released of these acoustic renditions at some stage, even if it's just on Spotify, but I'd buy the shit out of a physical copy or at least a digital download on iTunes or something. Amazing job Deryck!!!

Wow... to be honest i wasnt so happy when i figured out its will be Hell Song, because we saw that already... well Mr Whibley you can still surprise me after 18 years as a fan. Thank you! Probably the best vocal what I've ever seen from you, and you proof that you can do something new with a banger song even after 18 years

I listen to this song a lot when I was a teenager. The acoustic tenderness of this cover gives it the feel of a distant memory. Love it !

Sum 41 is one of those bands that they can fall off the radar a bit, and when you rediscover their music again, it’s still just as relevant as it was during the times it was made

Saw them live back in November with the Offspring. By far overall one of the most enjoyable live shows I've been to. You guys rocked it. Looking forward to hopefully see you guys back to southern alberta once the world settles down and we are allowed to have live concerts again.
