Some additional tips: - Using different blades on this is risky as the saw cuts with a lower RPM (but with more torque) so for best results use their blades. - The laser can be adjusted. I found by slackening it and spinning it round in the holder i could get a stronger beam. But it's still not amazing. - When adjusting the bevel, its best to use a hex key and spanner at the same time so you can hold the bolt in place prior to tightening otherwise it will move and misadjust. - You can add a zero-clearance fence to this saw using 3rd party addons. - You can improve the dust colleciton by adding a 3rd party, printed, dust collector which improves dust tremendously. - You can purchase a bolt kit to mount this to a surface, you'll need to as the base is cast and the saw is very light and will tip in regular use. - WD40 on the pitvoting hinge is essential after a while when dust build up sticks to the hinge. - When calibrating the 45 degree bevel cut angles take the measurement from the point where the saw blade is raise and lowered all the way down as it WILL likely show different measuremets in both these positions so sometimes it's best to understand if yours has any slop - You can screw timber to the fence to increase the fence length Hope it helps. ;)

@@sumeraybuilds - No worries. No i havn't! about a month or so. I actually run the RAGE 3-S (2017) 255mm the predecessor of this model (non double bevel) I got a good price on it so it made sense and i preferred the older build quality due to thicker metal and on the sliding stop and some other parts. it dosn't quite match the new one in features however and there is definitely deisgn improvements in the newer model. But yeah, the alignment mechanisms are in the same stylings as the older model and all the tips above should carry over including 3rd party options etc just make sure to buy them based on your model as their not universal between the generations.

And evolution won't honour the warranty if the find you used a non evolution blade.

@@Sly_Wolf_1 - Yeah true. It's a shame as most people arn't aware of it and will look at buying it as a budget saw option they can improve on with a dedicated wood blade...

A cheaper alternative to this saw, with 2 speeds able to cut multi material, are the Yato YT-82174, the Vonroc MS507AC, or the Parkside MPKZ 2000 A1.

Evolution decided to send a replacement part that was defective after first trying to deny the problem. I had to contact them several times before the problem finally got resolved.

These aren’t bad saws and the stands are decent quality, however for the money the Draper Expert 79901 305mm saw is better quality for less money

Subscribed. Really helpful, as are comments and respones. Did I understand correctly, bevel is limited to 45? I might need 46/7 as I attempt replacing skirting. Would another DIY brand work?

And can it be bolted to a bench?

Just bought one from Screwfix, think its a different one to yours in the vid, as i didn't get everything you got. Very happy with it, but with the hoover attached its no where near as good as you show in the vid. Dust all over the place. Its the only thing that bugs me.

Their latest cordless mitre saw seems to have almost magic like dust extraction. I did a video comparing to the Malwaukee. Are you using the Evolution dust extractor or something else?

But the DeWalt you mentioned cannot cut steel, aluminum, copper, plastic or concrete. Is there any universal equivalent for this Evolution saw?
@sumeraybuilds2 ай бұрын
This is only down to the blade that Evolution includes (multi-matierial). You can buy blades like this for most mitre saws.
@rbhe357Ай бұрын
@@sumeraybuilds Wrong! Put that blade on the Dewalt and you're about 1000 RPM over its rated RPM. Most metal cutting blades are 3000-4000 RPM max. You missed the biggest feature of Evolution saws. They don't call it a multi material saw just because they threw in a different blade. Poor review with dangerous advice! 👎👎

Could this be kept outside but covered from the elements?
@sumeraybuilds4 ай бұрын
You could as long as the rain isn’t getting to it. But I suspect after a while condensation would cause some sort of issues. Probs think about a shed in the long run.

How do you calibrate the single bevel saw?

It’s basically the same for most the checks. Just the bevel check will only require you to check it on one side
