I DON'T NEED YOU // LYRICS
You can’t say I didn’t try
If I’m honest, I probably gave a little too much
Been on the ledge for a while
Cause I promised, that I would be
You can say I wasn’t good enough
But you know that that doesn’t change what really happened here
That I have grown
Into someone you never thought I could
Someone who could walk away from it all
Someone who could stand alone and be alright
Cause I don’t need you to tell me who I am or what I’m meant to be
I don’t need you to make up my mind
There’s so much I wanted to say but I can’t find the words to
Good to hear you're doing fine
If I'm honest, I think about you all the time
But we left us behind
To find out what we could be
Yeah you brought out the worst of me
So I know if I stay then we would both drown
But now I've grown into someone you never thought I could
Someone who could walk away from it all
Someone who could stand alone and be alright
Cause I don’t need you to tell me who I am or what I’m meant to be
I don’t need you to make up my mind
There’s gotta be another way, a better way
There’s so much I wanted to say but I can’t find the words to
I don’t need you
After all’s said and done
I know I’m gonna get through this
Rebuild the bridges I’ve burned down
And find the light in the darkness
Cause I don’t need you to tell me who I am or what I’m meant to be
I don’t need you to make up my mind
There’s gotta be another way, a better way
There’s so much I wanted to say but I can’t find the words to
I don’t need you

This is the anthem for everyone who doesn't have to deal with a toxic person anymore who did nothing but bring them down instead of lifting them up and are now toxic free and stress free and are back to the person they were before they were in that toxic relationship. My fellow Toxic free and stress free people where you at let me hear you.

I can say the same thing. I lost my best friend/lover of 4 years and was told I’m dead to them , that I don’t exist to them anymore. I lost the one connection I thought would forever be here but I screwed everything up. If life couldn’t be more of an asshole they poured salt onto the wound with my favorite art teacher passing away this October and so sudden. I hope things are gonna look up for the both of us my friend. We will find a light in the darkness 🖤

I sent this to my husband. We've been married 24 yrs next month & together for 30 in Feb. After we'd been married for 20 yrs he suddenly lost all "act right" & hasn't found it again since. I wanted him to know that I was "going to get through this & find a light in the darkness" after all the dirty shit he'd done. & me being me, I'm going to come out even MORE badass than I already am. "Grown into someone he never thought I could". I hope things are going well for you love. Take care

THIS is what it's about. Danny's words always come from the heart and his experiences in life. People just want breakdowns and throat busting screams and they clearly don't give a shit about the art. Likely people who never grew up and are still 16 in their heads. Move on people, this shit is pure gold

Some bands keep tried and true to what made them famous, and others grow with life experiences choosing to use that influence in their music. Neither are wrong, music is meant to evolve, and change with the artists. If it didn't we'd all be listening to the same shit just by different bands. Although if they go country....I'm fucking out on that trash. That is an unforgivable sin......Ahem.... Danny's solo garbage....🤦🏻‍♂️smgdh. We'll chalk it up to the alcoholism then, and never speak of it again. 🤣🤣🤣

I've loved Asking Alexandria since I was 14, nearly 10 years now. I really didn't think I'd like anything from this album, I didn't care for the early releases, I couldn't appreciate what's really their growth, the flexibility they're clearly capable of. Congrats to them for making another great album, one that stands out more than any of the previous AA albums. Their ability to do this and go on adventures have been funded by their fans, which I'm sure they're grateful for. I'm buying this album for sure.

Easily the best song off the album. The only one that bangs from beginning to end.

This song really speaks to me. A couple of months ago I split up with my fiancee after months of arguements and accusations against. I'd do anything for, including moving country and yet she still threw it all back in my face. Since then I've started the rebuilding process and feeling better in myself and ready to be stronger than ever. Side note I wasn't sure about this album with the singles they released. But hearing the album all in one piece now makes complete sense and it all fits perfectly. Great album and maturity from a band I've followed from SUAS!
