This is the pinnacle of low-energy standup, and some of the jokes are really intelligent! Making jokes from the observation of society is an art of it's own. Like Sumit keeps telling, he spends too much time with himself, to such extent that he’s conquered it and became time itself. It takes me back to the last episode of the season 5 of Rick and Morty, where Jessica, in one of her adventures with Rick and Morty gets stuck in another realm where she’s trapped in the eternal bound of the timeless eternity and upon her return from the said realm, she has epiphany about her self conscience and she’s seen quoting perhaps one of the greatest monologues from the show, about time itself…. “At first it was madness, then enlightenment, then madness again. But perhaps it was a gift….. I could see the life of time. And as I watched the life of time, in it’s fleeting, terrible light, I wondered, ‘Had I lived? Or was I just the object in another story? Was that all ever was? Could I be more?….. I had nothing but time. And still, no answer…… “Time without purpose is a prison” I have glimpsed into the mind of eternity. Perhaps the mind of God, and found nothing but silence….. Sumit got some real depth on this episode, and the next one. It sets the stage for more, but I hope if (I really hope it isn’t) he’s struggling with something. He finds the courage to fight it and win it over. He’s a great artist who speaks his mind and we need such art, now more than ever. Keep up the good work brother. Peace.
