I interpreted this as giving so many parts of yourself when creating an important creative project to you. This animation made me cry My frist interpretation was how we try and fix someone else, their problems, by giving up ourselves, just so they're fine, so they are safe and unharmed, often forgetting about our own well being. But then after reading the comments I saw the I guess more obvious take on this, trying to make the best versions of ourselves, trying to make every little part perfect, often neglecting other parts. Both of these resonate with me and along with the gorgeous animation (it's so crisp and smooth and soft and warm and I just want to melt into it) and the absolute bop of a music it just struck me in the heart in the best way. Thank you.

Fun fact: This released right before my birthday. This entire animation looks insane to me. I almost consider it as an early birthday present, even if that wasn’t the intention. Idk why but I want to tell my interpretation. The boy wanted to create a new and perfect version of him because he didn't liked himself. He put so much effort in the project that he's ended up destroying himself physically and mentally. The dark thing inside him represents this feeling of not being enough and hating yourself. At the end his own creation showed him that they were the same. The perfect version of him was himself. Moral of the history: you're more than enough just the way you are. You can't be perfect, cause no one can Btw THIS ANIMATION IS AMAZING Thanks for existing

I kind of interpreted the story as one about the transition from childhood to adulthood. When we hit adulthood, there comes a point we feel the need to recreate ourselves and to abandon/sacrifice the childish aspects of ourselves. So much that we might feel like we're crafting a new person. But in the end, we learn to meld both sides of ourselves into one identity. I'm probably just projecting my own experience right now as a 20-year-old ^^' but it's a great story nonetheless!
