Hi Summer, agree 1000%. I make my cultured butter, kefir cheese and buttermilk, soy sauce, kimchi, natto and kambucha without tea i can tell you that has made so much difference and totally cured my anxiety. I was on tablets and decided to take charge of my health. No meat and add lots of wild herbs in my soups. It took me 3 years to learn and perfect all of them. Thank you for this brilliant presentation!

I'm surprised many cultures use SO much fermentation in their regular breads/foods. Making injera from teff could take 6 days! You're right in that we should look at ancestors and see their cooking/ eating methods and ways.

The sauerkraut on the shelf(unrefrigerated) is still better than nothing if you cant get other stuff. Recently the only thing I added to my otherwise healthy(for me) diet was the shelf sauerkraut and I can definitely feel the difference in my gut.

I have three 2 1/2 gallon crocks that I make Kombucha in. My hubby loves it and swears it helps him. It ferments for about a month before we begin to drink it and then just add it to our glass of tea. I have tried to 2F it but hubs prefers it just added to his peach tea. I try to keep a batch of sauerkraut made and use it as a condiment. I use to make kefir but was the only one drinking it and just lost the will to keep it going. I want to begin making yogurt, my hubby loves it and we buy to much of it. It would be better and cheaper if I made it for him.

As an animal shelter director, I was getting shots, taking oral, nasal, and eye allergy meds. I quit drinking milk and my seasonal allergies disappeared . High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) causes my body to have arthritic gout especially in my hands. When I stay away from genetically modified foods, MSG, etc my fibromyalgia pain lessons. Having had a perforation during an ercp with a stent placement, then the scent migrating out, caused vomiting and diarrhea in turn caused malnutrition and muscle wasting. I now have to take enzymes in order to absorb nutrients. I also take Vitamin D3, probiotics, and vitamin B's/C. I do have to take a thyroid pill. I tried just Iodine but my fatigue became worse. I know, from almost dying and stress, that adrenal fatigue is probably my problem. But after my husband put me through hell while I was extremely ill, my mother had a stroke and 4 years later died, plus no one would help- how do I get my energy back? But most importantly, how do I get the "I care what it looks like around here", back? Thank you. 🤪

I have been trying to understand my gut health for my pre and post-exercise routine because of oxidative stress. I'm just learning about this. I haven't learned about gut health from a bodybuilder video all they talk about is macros from what I've gotten. I just recently bought Organic Probiotics and have been interested in fermenting. I have also been interested in cultures for my gut and my other properties for my liver.

Sauerkraut has 2 ingredients. Start with that for your first ferment. It was my first. I now make many very complicated ferments including cheese, rice-wine vinegar, kimchi, and sourdough bread. But I started simple with sauerkraut. All you do is rinse a head of cabbage, shred it finely, and pack it in a jar with some non-iodized salt (sea salt, pickling salt, or kosher salt will all work). Alternatively, you can coat the cabbage in the salt before packing it in the jar. Pack it in firmly without air pockets. The cabbage will release its own juices to cover. Bacteria on the cabbage will ferment it. Put a lid on loosely and leave it on the counter for a few days until it smells like vinegar. Then seal it up and put it in the fridge.

Dear Summer, dont know if you would read this, but I think (suspect) that appendectomy is the reason why some people cannot restore microbiome! The reason why people got to the stage where they had to have appendectomy is improper diet and particularly sugar. MD's told me that this organ is complete useless and we can loose it easily, but I dont think so. If there is a doctors out there, please give us statistics of how many people are loosing their appendix this days and what is the condition of their gut right now. I think this organ is very important and it regulates microbiome. Without it we have to eat probiotics every day for whole life. Treat all said as IMHO.
@veoletta
@veoletta 5 жыл бұрын
tureckij , just watched video on appendix - it’s proven now - our body uses it as storage of right bacteria that helps to repopulate or microbiome every time it needed!

My mother who is now 92 had her appendix removed decades ago and has gastrointestinal problems . I believe it was a variable. She now has dementia and I also believe that her poor microbiome is at least partially to blame.

Just imagine, our body is alivie! Its life force, creating another life forces, to help us live and procreate. Doctors without understanding life philosophy, will never heal properly. Death produces death, life produces life. But our body is so unique, that even if its loosing some parts, it can compensate by other organs. Chemestry in our body unique and simple. Many life systems working same way. Appendix if inflamed, tells us that there is a poison somewhere is the intestinal system, which must be cleaned and and system itself healed. But conventional system treats everything hard way... I do believe dimentia like illnesses, with protein plaquing, is indeed correlating with food preferences and toxins...

I started my fermenting journey thinking that using starter cultures on veg ferments was pretty much necessary.. now after fermenting many many many batches of all kinds of stuff im convinced that 1) vegetables tend to ferment nicely without starters if they are properly submerged under brine 2)veg ferments made without starters taste and keep million times better than the ones made with starters. @josephpchajek2685 5 жыл бұрын
From personal experience, my advice is no and I'd recommend the following. For Sibo consider starving those bacteria with coordinated fasts and replenishing with fermented foods and even add in fruits, so sort of like transition from water fast to fermented food fast to fruit+fermented food fast then add in nutrient dense foods like broccoli, broccoli sprouts, liver and always eat fermented foods with the regular meals. That way you keep SIBO gets starved and dies off and the new healthier bacteria take over and colonize. I'd recommend always eating healthy too, to keep on top of this, otherwise you could revert back to SIBO, and it's not because SIBO wasn't cleared but it's because some people simply do not and can not get as diverse as a microbiome as others, so they have to at least make sure the most beneficial bacteria are put in there. This research article talks about some people are deficient in certain foxo genes and how foxo genes regulate antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), AMPs are peptides that help aid in the immune system, in this context they are relevant because they help promote growth of beneficial bacteria and remove not so beneficial bacteria. So if deficient in foxo certain foxo genes, you'd have less AMPs and effectively have a body that can't regulate it's own microbiome so well. It's even worse if born via C-section, then you are born without being bathed with the require vaginal fluids and have a less diverse microbiome right from birth and it's damn near impossible to artificially obtain this diversity, but who knows, I like to think anything is possible. Anyway, hope that helps and gives you some new ideas because imo most of the traditional advice given is well intended, but is misleading, time wasting and educated ignorance at a pretty high level. - lol

You can take probiotics in capsule form. Much easier than trying to track down all these probiotic rich foods but the capsules are bit more expensive

Dirk Diggler capsules also skip the process of nature and are almost useless, not totally, but real food will always be more beneficial being able to pass out stomach acid.

Your hips are holding your body weight in an imbalance. There is another piece to the puzzle. Your structure.

oh i didn't even look at her ears saw her thighs and looked for the comment in the comments of some possible vegan about her birthing hips ..looked at her videos and she seems to try and hide the size of her breasts ..with the shirts she wears .. not saying william is a vegan but it seems vegans think anyone with any fat on them is unhealthy ..so they freak at the sight of birthing hips ..as far as the earlobe hoops go.. i just don't get those

sure its an mild anterolisthesis originating in the lumbosacral. anterior femur and ilium rotation thus the forward hip posture translation. Puts alot of tension on the spinal cord all the way up. and Im guessing a reversed cervical spine and a definite lose of normal curvature in the thoracic.

i respect your professional opinion .. this is youtube ..so i saw her hip and expected to see some negative comment about her hips .. to me her posture and the way she moves she is purposely trying to hide her figure from the camera .. because she is not some stick thin woman talking about health ..i think almost everyone has some structural problems ..so your probably correct about the hip being a sign of the problem or the problem ..

How long does it take roughly to put right a disturbed bacteria ratio with fermented foods? Assuming one stops consuming junk, processes food and sugar and eats only meat and veg. Is it weeks or months before we can feel benefits?
