Excellent list! I’ve only read the first three but I agree, they are all awesome and perfect for summer :)

Awesome selection Jo! I almost put Into the Drowning Deep in my video since it's such a good one. For some reason I associate reading the Troop with cooler weather because my book's cover makes it look very stormy/cold haha.

I loved The Troop and Into the Drowning Deep. I want to read The Ruins so bad. Somehow it is still unread on my shelves. Great recommendations!

The Troop was such a wild ride! The Ruins was good but I cheered for the vines more than I did the douchey characters. Into the Drowning Deep was sort of slow to me but the action and gore scenes were excellent.

I’ve read and enjoyed all of those! My favorite summer horror book is Summer of Night by Dan Simmons. It’s very atmospheric and perfect for summer reading.

Just finished that one. It's awesome. A rival for King's IT?

I haven't seen Desperation by the King mentioned yet. That's set in the Arizona desert so a great summer read. Also, not strictly horror, but Gone South by Robert R McCammon is fantastic and definitely fits the summer vibe.

Dave Edmunds I need to check out Robert McCammon soon! I still haven’t read anything of his. I’ve actually started Desperation several times and never finished it. Maybe this should be the summer for both...

@@JoanieMaeZie if you're starting with McCammon I'd read Boy's Life. It's jaw droppingly good. You'll be hooked after that? Did you not like the opening of Desperation? I though it was awesome with that crazy cop going round killing/kidnapping everyone 😁

I need to find into the drowning Deep, I got it from the library one day and then decided I needed my own copy so I could read it at my own pace without a due date attached
