I have a carnosa krimson princess that reverted and it's actually one of my favorites. I love the way it grows and the shape of its leaves.

I have several. My oldest are 2 big ones. One has reverted by half and the other one is mostly variegated. I don't mind because it is a beautiful hardy plant.

Do you add oyster shells, egg shells for calcium? Plants need calcium too! A speaker at orchid meeting mentioned that. You could add clove oil to water when spraying for pests, 10 drops in small spray bottle will numb them to death. Can get at health food store. TFS. Beautiful plants.
@lifeofbellina2 жыл бұрын
I’ve not tried the shells for calcium but I’ve used slow release fertilizer that as micro nutrients. I like the idea of oyster shells I will look for some at next plant show. 🌸🌸🌸👌

The Hoya Pubicalyx Royal Hawaiian purple leaves emerge purple then fades to green, it doesn’t sunstress purple🤗💚
@naleeyang59262 жыл бұрын
Adding to this post. The rhp has purple Corolla with pink corona blooms. That's the differences in the pubicalyx naming. Regular pubicalyx has pink blooms

Can you elaborate on what you mean when you say you manipulate the roots to get more growth?
@lifeofbellina2 жыл бұрын
I try to remove a significant amount of soil from the roots. This will disturb the roots and give the plant some fresh media to encourage growth.

Cue sad trombone, the entire bloom fell off overnight 😢 I know that's to be expected with Hoya but I am so disappointed still

Oh dear, Hoya blooms can be so unpredictable. 🥲.

Hi, I have that same Australus. What I've noticed is that when you give it high light to avoid the leaves 🍃 from yellowing, it likes more water and fertilizer, I give mine extra fertilizer when I put it in the sun. Give it a try and see

The ones on the balłcony would do a lot better if you could provide a shade clot or umbrella. They really don't like full unfiltered sub.
@roxanedawn37522 жыл бұрын
If I try to filter my sub, I get a big clot. :D (sorry, couldn't help it)

If you are in Canada try Crystal Star www.crystalstarnursery.com/ . For imports I used Ah Hoya and I was happy with my order. It’d easy to order just follow the setups on their website. www.ahhoya.com/HOW%20TO%20ORDER.HTML

Hi, how do you take care of hoya rotundifolia?
@lifeofbellina2 жыл бұрын
My Hoya rotundiflora likes morning sun and I allow the plant to dry out before watching. She gets about 3 hours of morning sun and plant is not fussy when it comes to humidity.
@missesraisin2 жыл бұрын
Someone told me to use terra cotta so I forced all my Hoyas in. Not all of them appreciate it. Some of them went back into plastic or ceramic pots and are happier.
@lifeofbellina2 жыл бұрын
I agree some Hoya prefer plastic pots, especially the once’s that like a bit more moist. Thanks for watching🤗

Great video!! I'm new to Hoyas, is sun stressing the plant harmful to it, or does it have no impact?
@lifeofbellina2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I find sun stressing slows the growth of my Hoya plants. The sun stress Colours are nice, but I find the plants grow better in bright shade.

Life of Belina Another great video WOW your HOYA collection is Amazing l lost count after 10 your collection looks so 😀 Healthy have you ever put your hoyas in leca and if so what is your Secret to making Hoyas grow so nice Thanks 😊 🪴🪴🪴
@lifeofbellina2 жыл бұрын
I’ve tried leca with orchids, but not with a hoya. My home is too dry, especially in the winter. I find leca dries out too fast. 🌸🌸thanks for watching.
