Makes me homesick in a way. Out here it is so damnably FAST FAST FAST trying to get Life and warm wonderful awful neat and messy just plain People, over with to get to the drugs out here. I'm fed up with the Weird just to be maximum Weird out west. Just give me the coast or Down East or parts of the South or the North. Basic Northwest is getting more and more unappealing. Connecticut and some more of these places keep inviting me. So does North Carolina and environs. Alaska seems to keep calling me too. Coffee and Trout, your vignettes are making me ache. Your message reminds me when I was in 6th grade away at camp, and we were told by an old, poetic soul, to go find a space away from other classmates, under the stars, and find out who we we were in them, or just be, breathe, and exist in that one moment, and remember it. I remember it still, 40 years later. Still trying to find my place, my meaning, next to those stars, but I’m closer. Finally left big city living & built a mountain place where I can live off-grid, and the Big & Little Dipper say goodnight every evening. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, and divine gift. Huck, this took me back to the times I spent fly-fishing with my father. Fly-fishing is typically a gentleman’s sport, it is literary and beautiful, elegant in the simplicity of its mechanism, and it suggests stewardship and stalwarts. The old man would brim with pride in teaching his only daughter about fish and flies and rods. It was the place where he would go to feel wild, and where I would trespass into the world of men just to see how I faired. I was in awe of his connection to the land and how he found hidden places, the way we followed no trail, just the sound of the running stream to creeks no map could name. Dad and I would stand in that cold and rusty water and wait, enveloped in activity, feeling the closeness of experience rather than words. Those times felt like a rite of passage, something passed between parent and child, something immense enough to hold both curiosity and fragility in the coming of age.

I grew up swimming at Mohawk Trail State park. We camped there every summer in cabins all through the 70s, until 1980. We bought a travel trailer and traveled more after that. We also used to drive up to Windsor Jams from Adams to swim and picnic. I hear they're supposed to reopen this year. I sure hope they. So many memories! I can feel that water. So refreshing!

Perfect timing in releasing this video. I’m a fairly newer subscriber and have been catching up the last couple of months. One of your previous videos has inspired me to go on a solo camping trip to reflect on myself during my vacation time in October. Between work and home situations, I had lost interest in doing anything like that. But this new upload has inspired me once again, and I do feel I need the break. I was even putting off a weekend fishing trip with a friend, but we have started scheduling that as well. Keep up the good work and take your time for what you enjoy and with your work life.
