His 1/4 and 1/2 bending is so distinctive... You know who it is blind folded

It's sad to see all these people in the background just walk by. I could be across the building and be able to distinguish him over any other player. I'd run over to him (probably ruin this video on accident) and ask this man some questions. BTW, that riff he starts playing around 3:12 is fucking great.

@Biliary Clinton I totally agree. The feeling in his playing, his technique.... It's all too original.
@itsalwayssomething74904 жыл бұрын
@Biliary Clinton He played on Megadeth's 'The System has Failed.' I don't think he wanted that life anymore, it's too tempting to fall back into drug use. Plus, he had his own thing going. He isn't better than Kiko, he's different from Kiko. Kiko is a monster. You should check out Angra. I will say Chris is my favorite Megadeth guitarist, even though I really love Marty.
@itsalwayssomething74904 жыл бұрын
@Biliary Clinton clarification: Chris may be my favorite Megaguitarist. like I said, check out Angra...live. Kiko IS good live. Or check out his channel while he's playing live. Check out a jazz jam he does with Dirk. Kiko is good at various styles. Dave is intimidated by Kiko's playing, because he feels he's that good. Kiko's style is closer to Marty's than Chris, but he said he'd discovering what a player Chris was in Megadeth because he finally has access to just guitar tracks. Anyway, I respect your opinion. I can't argue it. Chris is a master. He's underrated and I really wish fans would give him his due when mentioning Megadeth line ups. Even Gar. Too me he was their best drummer. I recently listened to a side by side of him and Nick playing Wake Up Dead, and Gar is incredibly complex and layered, whereas Nick is straight forward thrash. The first recorded line up was really unique for a thrash band. ;)

@@itsalwayssomething7490 the original lineup is definitely my favorite version and even though I still think Marty is the best overall lead Megadeath ever had I still kinda prefer Chris just because his style is so distinctive and he was so important to the Megadeath sound. He might be able to stretch his pinky way further than normal, but him not being able to bend his pointer finger is a big disadvantage. It makes it impossible for him to do stuff like big sweeps and many chords.

@jackcoleman17842 жыл бұрын
Chris uses his pinky. He even uses it to bend. You can't really tell for two reasons. Number one is the angle of the video. Two and the far more interesting reason is that Chris had some kind of accident when he was younger that severed tendons in his pinky. This limited the range of movement in his pinky and causes him to have to hit notes with it using the flat part of his pinky just below the finger tip as opposed to the tip itself which most players use. It's why his pinky sticks out and looks weirdly held when he plays. It makes it look like he's not even using it sometimes but he is.
