Duisburg - "Internationale Wedau Regatta" - 11th / 12th may. Good luck Cameron and have fun there! It's esserntial for you. You will race the "Deutschlandachter" (german eight). As I am a big fan of the Team Deutschlandachter since looong time, I can't keep my fingers crossed for you guys to win BUT to score a good rank and a satisfying race! It's their first race with the new crew of this year, also :)

Got a question here... you say you're racing flat out, what rate do you seat race at? Are they coxed fours, no talking from the coxes allowed etc?

Quick question do weighted vests help rowing? For example running up stairs with a weighted vest.

I have never used a weighted vest outside the gym really. That doesn't mean it's not a good thing! I've heard weighted vests for running - more for longer distances and things like stairs, it's adding more stress to the joints so you have to be careful

Two quick question for you cam: I’ve just finished a peaking cycle, so I’m going to go back to working on my aerobic base after a deload week. My aerobic capacity is always where I’ve been weakest, and so I feel I should specifically work on that aspect of my fitness for the next 3 months. During this time period, should I remove all anaerobic work from my training, mostly do UT2 with some UT1, or should I do some high rate work somewhere? I’m happy sitting on an erg 75+ minutes a day if it means a bigger 2k in the future. Cheers.

Personally, I like to keep a bit of anaerobic. Helps keep it fresh for me and I enjoy it a lot

Hey Teddy. Sounds like you've got it pretty down, if you have 3 months to work on your fitness you should be able to make some serious gains! I don't think cutting out all anaerobic work would be the best but the majority ut2 would work wonders. 3 months is enough time to make some physical adaptations and if you are consistently doing long ergs every day you'll be seriously fit! Rate work etc can be worked on over a short period of time so I wouldn't worry about that!

Cameron Buchan sweet! I technically have more than 3 months, as I want to peak for BRIC in December. Currently at 6:16, and I wasn’t too sure whether I should peak and test in August, and then do another cycle aiming to peak for December, or just stick at it and peak once in December. Was hoping to be 6:10 in August, 6:05 in December. Pipe dream, or realistic goal?

Definitely within range! You got this! Peaking multiple times will give you targets but just takes time off training, depends how you feel!

Similar to a jelly bean, its the same kind of jelly in the middle, little softer outer layer and shaped like a baby 😂
