I live in Georgia nearby their natural habitat and i recently took a park ranger guided tour of said habitat and to see the plants they have conserved there. It was an amazing experience for someone like me who just adores all carnivorous plants 😊 so naturally im loving this little tour a lot! Thank you!

The other day, I suddenly wanted a Venus Fly trap. So, I ordered seeds online, from a Canadian seed company. Then I learned sometimes to get fake seeds! Thank god, they look real! Since then, I have been watching and learning while I wait for my pots that I ordered to arrive. I have the seeds, the growing medium, the distilled water, but now I am waiting on the pots. I have to say, thank you for helping me learn so much! I just informed my husband that if the seeds don't take, I will be ordering from you in October or November... perfect timing for winter!

As a young 10 year old I fell in love with carnivorous plants by reading an old National Geographic from the early 60s about the subject. I did grow some venus flytraps and pitcher plants but no sundews. But they always have fascinated me and I envy you for 'living it' every day. Thanks for sharing on KZbin!

I am still learning of how to take care of VFTs and droseras. So far I'm pretty bad at drosera and slowly learning how to care for VFTs. Hopefully I can grow mine like yours one day as you are what inspired me to keep them. Good day from Philippines.

Which type of Drosera? There are so many kinds and they sometimes like different conditions. D. capensis is the easiest for me, D. binata and D. filaformis prefer being outside in my climate. Good luck with your growing!

Thank you for the mini tour, it's neat to see all the different cultivars side by side! I had a Red Dragon that died in winter, I think some of the torrential rain we got in California this year might have upset its roots too much! I bought a replacement from you guys, I will try to be careful with this one🤲

We don’t sell these, we use them for breeding but we do divide these and take leaf pullings to sell

I’ve been looking into buying a Kim Jung un II Venus from u guys and I was wondering how long will their roots grow?
@California_Carnivores
@California_Carnivores Жыл бұрын
They will most likely have fairly small roots but it’s highly variable by how they’re grown, how long their roots will get. I would assume they’re probably only an inch or so long now, at a small size.

MY WATER IS PINK?? Is this a normal thing? I’ve had my plant for a couple months now and I got home today to my plants water turned pink..
@California_Carnivores
@California_Carnivores Жыл бұрын
Plant water can turn a few shades of brownish yellow orange and maybe it’s just that but it’s hard to know exactly what’s going on. You may want to clean you saucer and flush the pot with water a few times

@@California_Carnivores thank you for replying. The water was fluorescent pink and when I refilled there’s been no discoloration since. I believe there was something put in my water to cause this unfortunately
