beginner skateboarder here. just so you know you’re supposed to push with your back foot and keep your front foot on. the way you were pushing was opposite and called mongo. you can do it that way but it will make things harder than necessary. hope this helps! 🌸

Stephanie Vega if you feel more comfortable pushing mongo then do it but try every now and then to push with your back foot. don’t be ashamed about pushing mongo, I pushed mongo for like 6 months before I got comfortable pushing with my back foot

@@stephaniev16 I think you could have a goofy foot placement instead. Try using your right foot as the forward foot instead of the usual left foot. I think the fact that you're putting your right foot in the back is why skating Mongo feels more comfortable.

this is so so so cute! i love seeing other girls skate, i always get so nervous being the only girl at skate parks. also, if you get bigger wheels, rocks will be less of a problem! my board has Bootleg Seismic 80a 70mm and they ride super smooth & i rarely trip over rocks :)

I didn’t have anyone to teach me either so chairs and fences helped me! I started on a Penny board and set up chairs in a row so I could use the back to grab onto if needed. On days when I was feeling more brave I would practice in my front yard and hold onto the fence to help me start off but don’t always depend on it!! It takes practice and patience but when you get the hang of it, it’s super easy and fun! Hope you can learn with your long board!

I started longboarding about a year ago and then took it to the skateparks with my boyfriend helping me out. I will say being the only girl at skateparks with a longboard was not easy but it got fun after and sold my longboard and got a normal skateboard and still skate at skateparks yet learning. One day you girls should go at skateparks it gets more fun on ramps.

I have the same 42" Hana board. I highly recommend you swap out the trucks for some Surfskate trucks. It will transform your board and give you so much more control and super sharp turning. I put Carver CX trucks on mine (They're actual clone knock offs from a board I got on Amazon branded as Boilgon and was about $60 on sale for the compete board, then I just swapped the trucks). With the Surfskate trucks you can carve much much sharper which allows you to keep speed very slow going down steeper hills amd makes riding a long board 1000x more fun.

Ayyy there you go!! Been long boarding for 5 years now and here’s a couple of tips! Balance is key! If you want to go faster, push more longer. My longboard is also from Magneto and when I got my complete I had to loosen the trucks to get sharper turns and to do “waves”! Also, bearings. When I received my Magneto board, it was extremely slow so I switched out the bearings to go faster since I like skating fast. I think that’s the only tips I have for now for beginners:) I also realized that you push goofy/mongo. Nothing is wrong with that! Tbh gurrll, as long as you’re comfortable and having fun with your board, it’s all it matters. Skating mongo is definitely a little bit more risky if you don’t have the balance part jot down. Other than that, you’re great to go! ☺️🧡
