I always manage to pick up something new & useful-- this video was no different. I think 1 part i differ with is with the drag though. I won't lock it down and then loosen it when fighting a fish. I typically keep the drag set to match the rod, a bit less with braid so something can give, and use my thumb on the spool when setting the hook with worms. Another great video & plethora of knowledge!!! (huge thumbs up & already subscribed)

Good video Glenn as always great tips hey Glenn I have a question ❓ for you do you use a bead for your Texas rig because I've seen some other videos where guys are useing a bead and I thought it was for protecting your knot but they were saying it's just a little bit of noise clacking up against the weight I was just curious if you use a bead on your Texas rig worm fishing. And they were also saying just that little clacking up against the weight helps the bass find your worm easier. Tell me your thoughts.
@bassresource Жыл бұрын
I used to use beads, but I'm usually pitching into thick cover and don't like to use an unpegged sinker. A pegged sinker won't bang against the bead and create noise.

Hey I always say if the lake has grass the bass won't be out deep. I like the deep stuff though there ain't no grass in my lakes. lol

I was catching largemouth in 6 to 12 inches of 86 degree water this past sunday. Scattered wood. No vegetation to produce oxygen. I was fishing deeper trees from 5 to 9 feet and didn't get a single bite. Saw a fish cruising right on the bank, threw a swimjig ahead of her and she smoked it. Stuck with that the rest of the day. Every single one was cruising super shallow. Just shows how unpredictable bass fishing can be.

Why do u use a Med Hev vs a Medium if u are only using an 1/8th oz weight? Great video
@bassresource5 жыл бұрын
It's more about the hook size and the type of cover than the bullet weight. Larger hook + thicker cover = stronger rod.

I agree I never use a medium power rod for worm fishing

Good video, I use 8 lb. On my medium heavy and 4lb on my ultra light. I like fishing and never have used 50 lb line. I watch people fish and have to laugh a little, once the fish is on the angler acts like he or she is wrestling hulk hogan. I'm not picking on anyone but why the overacting, you have 50 lb test on, the fish isn't going anywhere. The best part of fishing is the fight to get it to the boat or shore. Even if I'm ocean fishing with a 14 inch lure, 50 lb line has never been used, 25 lb is the heaviest I've ever used without any problems but that's just me, in fact you help me out allot, you promote the 50 lb and my 8 lb line gets cheaper because no one uses it, lol, thank you sir. Much love and God bless you.

If you fished for bass, then you'd notice the big difference between open water saltwater fishing and bass fishing is the abundance of heavy cover, rocks, logs, trees, and other objects which the fish can wrap around and then leverage to work the hook free. I don't saltwater fish much, so I'm not in any position to critique it, just like saltwater anglers that don't bass fish much.

@@bassresource I'm from Ohio and haven't seen a rock, tree or log anywhere. I'll keep my eyes open though and thanks for the advice. I've learned a few things in life and noticed those who assume usually go overboard with everything, I wasn't aware you needed a showboat to fish. I look into it, thanks for the advice.

I agree with Patrick below. I almost feel like I'm in the boat with Glen when I watch. He has a way of simplifying what he's demonstrating. Like that he fishes with his wife. She, obviously, has gotten some "pearls" from him. She is as serious as he is.

Show one on the tokyo rig. it allows you to keep the bait in the strike zone while you punch it. much more powerful than the t-rig.
