House Dance Forever, the mother of all Forever battles, takes place in Paradiso, Amsterdam each year in February. The House Dance Forever battle was born in 2009 and inspired the summer edition: Summer Dance Forever.

Summer Dance Forever is an inner city hiphop dance festival where dancers from around the world gather in the city of Amsterdam, each year in August. Seven days to enjoy an international dance feast, packed with the best of today and the great promises of tomorrow. Organized in several venues around town, expect a great variety of dance performances, next level battles and workshops to refresh and boost your skills. A true summer in one of Europe's hottest cities, soaked in dance, to be remembered forever. Forever...and ever...and ever... Dont know if people can notice the rythmic and layers of Shan S in his round. The way he played with polyphony while lockin the pocket is 😮. He even jumped and kicked some accents in the air , then landed and continue his way like nothing. For a comparison it is like you see a man drawing a portrait with left hand while jamming with a band on piano with his right hand while booking a flight on the telephone with an operator at the same time😮. it requires high awareness, consciousness and control. I have watched some of his Old school VHS DVD's in which you could see him kind of "setting water 🌊 on fire🔥" and kind of dance Alchemy.

@@xIrreeplaceable shan S was selling them back then. I could watch some at the house of one of my friends in France. I was blown away. They are not on KZbin and will not be I think. 1 for copyright respect 2 the people who got them will not share it on KZbin so that you will do it the right way: take classes from him or private class in order he can get paid for his art creation.

Mannnnn, listening to Shan’s message at the end and that hug with Mamson and just looking at that humble human’s blissful face,,,priceless. What a soul. That energy beaming from Shan is pure gold. You can feel it thru the screen. What a privilege to witness the kinda SPECIAL ppl dance attracts and/or creates.

I thought it was only me lol. I love Summer Dance Forever, love the community. But this time, bad choice of music. You can see Mamson after 4:15 kind of losing the vibe. I don't know if it was on purpose just to add some difficulty but, as a dancer, I would've lost the groove in the first 15sec hahahah

@@matbarbosa_ then play good difficult tracks. Floating points - King Bromeliad for example. What they played is just repetitive, uninspired, bland noise. Only 3rd track was good.

I agree. The music in the first 2 rounds was bad. I get challenging the dancers with unique house music but don't kill the vibe for the viewers and audience in the final round. Mamson got a hard road to dance through that gauntlet then had to find motivation to groove through those songs. I felt him when he gave up. I say this with the most respect for the Dj and Shan. S. I'm just commenting for consideration next year.

Yo DJ what is up with those first and second songs those were horrible. IDC what anyone says music affects the dance quality. You can't expect to bring the best out of a dancer with bad music. Shame!

No hate to the DJ but my gosh that must have been impossible to find a proper rhythm for such disjointed sounds. They should have asked him how he would have grooved on the tracks he put.

Like who ever would have thought dancing back and forth with Tony (from Irvington), SEKOU(Tony from Trenton as we said back in the day to differentiate the two), Wyclef Jean, Pras(Sam), Caleaf,EJOE, Brian, Hakim Green from Channel Live and on and on would lead to this Global phenomenon. From New York to New Jersey, Zanzibar, Club 88 to the Shelter! Just great to see the Global respect. I’m 54 too and remember us all bringing in this form of dance in the late 1980’s to early 1990’s. So I know exactly how Shan feels. Especially dancing with him too back then. As a house dancer for more than 30 years also this is just as great as Breaking and is amazing to know it ain’t going anywhere. To the youth…Thanks so much and keep this going FOREVER!!!! 🤸🏿‍♂️🕺🏿🤸🏿‍♂️🕺🏿

A few weeks ago I was at a club in Brooklyn, and Shan and his brother were there. Shan didn't even take off his coat or move a muscle. I had no idea that he had just won this contest. I thought he retired from these battles.

This music is closer to breakbeat and is not really house. Not saying you can’t throw a track like these in a house set cause it’s still dope-not house genre though and at a contest for house you really should be playing track that fit better into the genre. Dope dancing and tracks nonetheless so thanks for sharing!
