The documentary on Mobtop brought me here. I did not know Caleaf still danced. I love his dancing, especially his spins! Both of these dancers were great! Thanks for the upload SDF!

Seee these new guys have been watching and learning from the NYC vets studying their videos and coming up with their own take or flava. What’s sad for the dance lovers of the new generation is they never saw how those moves were actually done. I love the new guys. The only thing I think they lack is dancing with that feeling like caleaf does. It’s like having that glow. You don’t look like your trying to do moves , you just have to do them in a flow and that can’t be taught. Like how mj dance with feeling. I have only seen one new guy myself that has that flow and it’s Yugson. He feels it and you can see it.

Since when do you ask one of the competitors to decide who won? Why didn't they let the crowd decide or have other judges? Is this a thing in house dancing? I've never seen this before. Caleaf was my pick to win until that happened. Not classy to pick yourself as the winner even if you think you are better.

Caleaf won, Hands Down! His movements are more fluid and his footwork is excellent. Kapela knew he lost that's why he conceded. If he didn't really believe he lost, he should have said he won. Kapela is good, but in my opinion, he sometimes is off beat.

Not the right song...in the beginning...not appropriate for a dance battle
@sn4pi4 жыл бұрын
Oh no look who's crying.. Tbh you should stop looking at this video and stop thinking of it as a "battle". You should grow up and get inspired by these two wonderful dancers, how they interpret the music so differently. House is not about battling, that's just some show shit and a chance for these people to earn money. In reality they resprect the other and just have fun. And you can see that they are having fun by copying the moves of the other one or trying to predict what they will do next! What you see as "arrogance" is a completely normal thing for "dance battles". You can even see this kind of stuff in solo jazz and swing dance battles and THAT'S a completely different culture!

@@sn4pi Why do dancers find it so difficult to rise above the challenge of a bad song or a bad DJ?
@sn4pi4 жыл бұрын
@@micksolo2912 I don't know. I think that dancing the best out of *every* song is what makes dancing so interesting. It makes me sad how some of the house community badmouth the dj because he played a bad song (in their opinion). And then you look at the fcking tango Argentino scene that already has NON-TANGO MILONGAS where they play non-tango music only! So you see people dancing tango to blues, pop, reggae, samba and all the electronic music! This clearly shows that you can perform one type of dance to every music no matter what it sounds like. Plus people talking about bad music and good music is just dumb. Everyone has their own taste so there is no bad in general. Best ex. I love pink guy music af and most people hate it or just look at it as a meme.

To me Kapela won as you have lost the battle if your opponent can read your move. Its like a real fight. If your opponent knows your next hook from below you clearly can dodge it. Furthermore, the dynamic and Musicality finess of Kapella was better. Caleaf is foundation and freaking groovy but on this one Kapella hella wins.

man, for how many years has been Caleaf on the scene? he's one of the pioneers, he's been there since the very beginning and I think many of us have learned a lot by watching his videos again and again and trying to follow his moves which at the end of the day are among the foundation as you said. Course you gonna be able to predict several of his moves but I think the dance is much more than "new moves", which at the end of the day are not that new cause you watch videos of the young pioneers and realize they were already doing crazy stuff 30 years ago. I know Kapela was not trying to be disrespectful probably just trying to create that "battle atmosphere" though

Ejoe is not, tony mcgregor and caleaf definitely act like eu dancers are beneath them or ''not true house dancers''
@monoxfittedbrim6 жыл бұрын
Scott Fibanacci and you that personally about caleaf & tony or is that just an assumption? 🧐. Because the same can be said about most Europe dancers .
@daytona-x7b6 жыл бұрын
just look at how caleaf and tony act when they battle europeans compared to when they battle each other. They barely look at the dancers, they walk around, look bored. Same can be said about europe dancers? sure but not specifically when battling americans. Theres nothing but respect shown to tony caleaf and american dancers at this event especially. Theres definitely air of superiority there, and lets be honest im not saying anything crazy here. Ive danced with american dancers, nobody famous but the general opinion among them is that europe and rest of the world dont dance true house. hell even on youtube videos you see so many comments calling out dancers for not being ''real dancers'' and its always americans in their 30s/40s.
