What some people dont seem to understand is that the $150 of EOD was almost entirely for the free DLC's in the future, and this is a blatant sidestep when the edition did technically give p2w features but were so negligible that it was as said a side goal to supporting Battlestate Games and getting future content for the massive pricetag when it was in its infancy and needed every bit of support they could get

EOD is definitely p2w whether you want to admit it or not. Each advantage it gives as a singular unit isn't big, but added up it gives EOD owners a massive advantage over standard edition.

@@cjoin83 It's definitely an advantage, I'd say the biggest part would be starting with maxed inventory, but tarkov is mostly an information game at the end of the day, and if you have experience you can easily rush quests to get boxes, and the hideout upgrades, it's still comfortable to have, but an experienced standard player would have it infinitely easier than an unexperienced EOD, so I'd say not technically p2w, but then we might be arguing what p2w means, back in the day when the term became a thing you would be able to buy extremely strong stuff that was only accessible by spending money, nowadays people just throw the word around a lot. Now, the new version includes an item that makes you able to summon people in a match, scavs don't aggro to you past a certain distance, these 2 things are fucking crazy, like the summon feature might completely destroy insurance, you could always summon a bunch of friends when there's a bunch of loot you can't carry laying around for example, it's insane they came up with such a stupid thing and even said "it's cool", you could also call all the other shit p2w, but once again it's mostly a convenience to noob players, starting with extra levels, some weapons, scav box, a slight advantage but nothing that would make you actually win, you're going to lose if you're shit even if you started with t6 armors.

I was one of the "lucky ones" who was invited to the very beginning of Tarkov's testing phase 8 years ago before the game was available for purchase. I stuck by BSG's side from then until today, let me say my heart is absolutely shattered. I loved this game and had high hopes like everyone else, but after all of the recent events i've uninstalled the game for the first time and refuse to play or support it in any form. I respect anyone who still plays, but I just can't. This is the very definition of betrayal and I don't know how Nikita/BSG will come back from this. GG it's been a fun run, and no, I didn't get my money's worth.

Im no chad but i like to shoot around etc in spt and since i work so much making the game what i want is really fun. You can mod SPT into whatever you want it to be and its fun. Nikita takes it personally like your not playing his vision, This is why he doesnt like SPT, This edition has prob been worked on hell it might be code copied from SPT. I know its hard to believe i guess, that the game in a single player state can just be fun... but they know it has a market, and want that market.

Bunches of people upgraded to EoD BECAUSE it included all the DLC and it was going away for release. I remember telling dudes they should scoop up the EoD before it's gone, so you get all the cool stuff later... But given for Tarkov- People camp extracts There's far too many cheaters/Hackers If you join a wipe late, it's going to be EXTREMELY hard to get the ball rolling because you're going to run into chads wearing end-game gear while you have a Dinky unmodded AR with FMJ rounds. PVP Tarkov 'used' to be fun. Now it's just a Self-torture simulator. It's a fun game. Really. But the community is one of the worst out of any PvP game

EoD should have been removed a long ass time ago when tarkov started to get popular. Because from what I understood EOD was an early backer thing and was ALWAYS going to go away and never be available again which gave incentive to the super early backers. BSG shot themselves in the foot because everyone has EoD and everyone now gets DLC due to it. Which is causing a lot of this backlash because BSG doesn't want to hand out the DLC to everyone because they lose money on it most likely.

9:40 BSG are scared to admit to giving Arena "such as"; because it would mean they included features/game modes as DLC, Such as PVE should be cause its also a feature and many people purchased this under a specific agreement to access to free future content for the game, this 250$ pack adds a new melee and adds unique IDs and unique Arm Bands. They should split content and package it based off genre of content, like: -Characteristics: customizables skins, hideout assets, unlock ingame cloths with real money and emotes =$ -Logistics: features/gamemodes/special-and-or-privilaged maps =$$$ -Armory: Ingame Skill upgrades/Weapon/IDs(arm band/nametag)/Specific boosts to rep (differ per pack based on themeing ie scav lover pack, vs raider invader vs chad blaster) =$$$ Make it like a 5-30$ range for Characteristic packs; A 30-50$ range for Logistics packs; Mostly make Armory Pack (ie pay to win) 50-100$ I believe if BSG categorized it to this affect then it'd elevate quite a bit of the issue ( asides the whole "Arena" scandal ) though it is easy enough to say Characteristic and Armory packs could be excluded from what is included as "DLC"; however Logistics would be required to be considered "DLC" especially if it provides more "cannon" content to pre-existing plot and or theming.

a scummy idea but i would have just made a cosmetic season pass that is exclusive to arena if we really needed money maybe have contracts that you can fulfil for full game benefits like get 1000 headshots within 24 hours in arena to unlock a flat speed buff that helps you with lifting heavy weight for 10 extractions id really like an arm band + goggles that helps with friend of foe with the goggles allowing you to see the glow on the arm band and it helps with contrast your teammates will share a color so your teammates have a glowing arm band so you dont end them and other teams will have diffrent colors the color is decided for you when you load in and is always diffrent to other teams also maybe allow people to buy base parts.. 0 tolerance for selling actual guns and in game abilities bros hire me to make you ideas that make you money

i also want an adrenaline style and a nausea system.. getting kills, taking damage and basic panic sets of adrenaline allowing you to tank and run or fight nausea comes with debuffs like getting flash bagged over and over again can f you up as far as cheaters go id never hand out perma bans cus that just encourages them to account hop id instead have reports trigger a manual review from both devs and other players like what CSGO has.. if your account gets banned more then 3 times we will think about a perma ban the real reason i dont like perma bans is cus it actually backfires giving us more work long term if the cheaters still have accounts on cool down they dont go away but they wait until they are unbanned and we might also look at them just after to see if they are still cheating or not we might also have dev servers which are just like normal servers but devs and sus people play together so we can see directly whats going on without you even knowing.. theatre mode is crucial for this tho as for stream sniping that is alot more difficulty detect but there are things we can do to prevent it.. we suggest a stream delay but on are end stuff like your name being encrypted and if you report your death itself we will review the suspects POV i like the idea that if a cheater is a sus player is in your game there weather goes extremally hard like you end up with a sand storm or just storms in general.. also snow maps with extreme weather hazards and survival systems.. you can be tracked by the snow foot prints etc

The stigma of games costing more $$ needs to be addressed. I'm not defending BSG's lies and coverups, but I think we, as gamers, need to be reminded that $250 really isn't asking that much if you spend 500+ hrs playing it. When compared to other forms of entertainment, it's actually considerably cheap. For example, bar-hopping in one night with friends roughly ends up with you paying $50 - $100 in many cases, all within a span of 4-6 hours. That's around $8.33/hr, and that's on the cheap end. Watching a movie with a date? $30 for tickets, and another $30 for snacks and drinks. That averages out to around $15/hr. Going to a concert? ~$120 for a fun night watching your favorite band perform live for roughly 4-6 hours. That ends up being $20/hr. Looping back to EFT, let's just assume you have 500 hours of play time (this is a very low estimate based off of personal experience and research). If you handed over $250, that roughly puts you at $2/hr. Granted, this is a loose simplification of the adjacent costs and values. I would encourage everyone to "math" out your hobbies and ask yourselves, "Is BSG really asking too much?" and "Should we re-evaluate the cost of gaming?" ... Just my perspective on the matter. Thoughts welcomed. Crying and/or complaining not.

People keep saying they must be hard up for cash. There's no way. To put it into perspective, it is a hugely popular and successful shooter where most people have EOD at an expensive price. Compare that to No Man's Sky that also sold well but then was hated for years. For years now they have released content after content for free while also making Light No Fire, and they have yet to nickel and dime their fanbase. They haven't run out of cash yet. I refuse to believe that all those EOD copies they have sold with how popular their game has gotten has meant they have run out of cash before Hello Games have from No Mans Sky. The Unheard Edition should have never included a gamma container, Offline mode should have been given to EOD owners, the level boost should have been up to level 2 at most not 3, and should have been the same price as EOD at most. It also should have been an optional switch for EOD owners if they wanted to change editions. EOD owners that make the switch would still get all DLC and keep the gamma container, but only get the other bonuses from the edition, not both of them. EOD owners would be given a "ARE YOU SURE?" prompt that lists the differences in the packages, what they keep, and what they lose by switching editions.

I am SOO glad that I started my EFT era in life during the start of covid. The game got worse and worse, making changes so that the game became harder and harder to master. They were constantly making changes. I had a lot of fun during the early/mid tarkov days. Hearing this just blows my mind. I always thought EOD edtion was one of the biggest p2w shit I've ever seen in a shooter looter. But hey, it is what it is. After/during this era of tarkov, the servers got bombed by more and more cheaters. That really put the nail into the coffin for me. All of this is happening because of BSG's original lie back in 2016. If EoD was actually as "limited" as originally implied, it would have been taken away years ago and 80% of the player base wouldn't be on EoD accounts. Giving the PvE mode to 25% of the player base would be far less costly, but BSG's greed kept EoD on the market for over SIX YEARS.

I want spt and i have 1K hours in live tarkov but i also have 200-300 hours in games like stalker:gamma which have the same feel. The survival aspect you mention is just as much survival from PvP as it is survival from the environment. It seems disingenuous to say it's mainly for survival without acknowledging how PvP & Survival, epecially in this game, are inherently synonymous with one another. I don't mind if people want to play a PvE variation. Maybe you want a more casual time or are just not that good at the game yet. However the idea of essentially having no competition in a competitive game is pretty lame. Just accept that you enjoy a lamer playstyle, it's really not that big of a deal.
