I guess I can understand in a pirate game why they might want to sword fight and not always get shot by a blunder and sniper all the time. Def would be cool if there were longer reload times so that sword fighting becomes the main way to kill players.

Rule of combat while your buddy is holding the enemy down with a board: get your ship into a nice rotation around the enemy ship first, then use cannons. Worry about other things later after firing. Water can be bucketed for temporarily staying afloat.

I think it would help if they were on a galleon and had someone else steer and command for sails so they could get a better grasp on what is and isn't good positioning and how to get there

how good you're at pvp has literally 0 to do with the pirate legend title. you can become pirate legend without ever winning a single pvp fight. most people actually do. to become good at pvp, you actually gotta specifically seek it out. pl just means you grinded enough xp in 3 different factions. it says nothing about your fighting abilities. that said, pvp in this game is pretty difficult. takes a long time to actually become good at it. :)

I watched this live and at the end of the night summit was so frustrated with trying to teach and help these new guys. He's used to playing with high level players, so he has to change his whole playstyle to win these fights. He was relying on Bosch to make holes, but really he could have just firebombed the hell out of their mid and lower deck. They did end up sinking this galley though, it was great. I dont know why the editor didn't include that in this video.
