I'm glad you are so clear about safety at the beginning of the video. I know that I get complacent and too lazy to bring everything I need all too often, so it's great to see someone with your experience not taking unnecessary chances.

Sneffles was my first 14-teener, years ago. Great hike. I hit some altitude / headaches at the top, and the storms started rolling in .. so heading down felt great. Although some serious quad work.

For her first 14er she did extremely well on the Class lll climb. Breathing was the only thing she seemed to notice as a bit of a problem but that didn't stop her either. She definitely has what it takes to do 14ers. Hope you are able to come through again and get in a few more, it is always well worth the effort. Sneffels was my 34th 14er and what a beautiful climb.

Impressive views from the top. Not a bad place to start for Audree´s first big mountain and the weather was excellent. Nice adventure

I was very impressed with both of you and un bravo particulier pour Audree! I was quite scared in bits but also thinking it would be great to learn going on such terrain with a guide. It definitely made me appreciate how much beauty there is out there. Thank you

I love the change from dense woods you got us use to it, to those clear and high altitude landscapes with big grasslands. Gorgeous! Reminds me of the Pyrinees. Congrats for that 14er.

Nice, this was my first 14'er in High school, almost was my last a few other times so smart you brought safety gear! My thumb nail is of getting lost during an rain storm on Sneffels after bailing on the attempt! Waited in an emergency bivy till the vis was better. Only Mt. I've also seen lighting strike with blue bird skys nearly giving out heart attacks with the sound, there were 12 people and we all set records fleeing down those scree fields 😅

Our highest peak in Sifnos island is 680 meters ( 207 feet ) ... So 6.3 x 680m = 4.284 m or 14.100 feet . It's a small difference hahaha .. Congratulations and thanks for the great video !

Really cool seeing it from that side. I have a video coming out in a couple weeks of Blue Lakes up to the 4th lake, the one closest to the ridge there. To do Sneffels from that path it's about double the distance and elevation, most do it from yankee boy. Blue lakes was incredible on its own though. Also I guess going up the wall to the saddle is pretty dangerous, rocks knocked off the top by other hikers come flying down like cannon balls (what someone I talked to said who went up that route).
@JeffPelletier2 жыл бұрын
That’s one of the reasons we chose to climb via the southwest ridge, to avoid coming up behind other hikers in the Lavender Col. We’ll have to go back and do the Blue Lakes approach, thanks!

I did Sneffels with my sons in August ‘22 from the Blue Lakes side (in one day). Yeah, you guys should definitely invest in some rock 🪖 helmets. It just takes a small one to land on top of your head and it would spell disaster….

We definitely own a few, just didn’t have them with us on our road trip. But totally agree that they’re important for overhead rock!

Hello! In the early part of the video, Audree was mixing up an electrolyte mix in her flask. Can you share which brand it was? Or recommend one? I've tried a couple and am looking for an option that doesn't get all clumped together when I put it in the water, haha! Thanks!
@JeffPelletier5 ай бұрын
She was using Skratch on this run, likely their Superfuel mix.
