August 2 2021. Just rewatched. Did I enjoy it this time round ? No. Why? Because I’ve actually started wild camping with the intention of camping at high altitude and in exposed areas. So it terrified me thinking of what’s to come. Great video mate. Can’t wait to experience some harsh weather Thanks stay safe 🔥

Really enjoyed the vids.. One word for tents and weather like that.. Hilleburg.. I know they are expensive, but I've had my soulo out in conditions as bad and worse and always had the confidence that it would be standing and I'd be nice and dry in the morning. Took me ages to save for it, but worth every penny.
@SummitOrNothing4 жыл бұрын
Yea, I'm hoping to one day start putting some cash back and gather me some more expensive tents to test out, but that being said, the Naturehike does a lot better these days since I tied an additional guy rope to the rear window. Bloody good bit of kit, really! Thanks for watching!

Hope you are well trev. Enjoying the recycled stuff. Just a thought about the dreaded night piss. I always have a dedicated piss bottle in with me, make sure its a wide necked one unless you fancy a panic mop up 😉
@SummitOrNothing4 жыл бұрын
Cheers Steve, all good here thanks. Glad that you are enjoying the videos. A few people have suggested a pias bottle, but it's something I have put off. Being clumsey as I am, I tend to spill water in my tent every time I'm out... The last thing I want is a tent full of piss haha. Cheers for the suggestion though. And thanks for watching.
@TheRealSteveEllis4 жыл бұрын
@@SummitOrNothing Im a saywer user with 3l bladder so I reckon a piss bottle is the best use of a wide neck nalgene tbh, reassuringly expensive but the first time you use it in a storm it pays for itself.

Do you like the naturehike cloud up 2 more than the star river 2, and if so why? I am currently deciding between those tents. Thanks in advance!
@SummitOrNothing4 жыл бұрын
Yea I preferred the Cloud up 2. Although the star river has more room, as a one man tent it was harder to keep warm and the version I have has snow flaps which are frustrating throughout the night.
@nosilverharbinger4 жыл бұрын
I always bring a pair of earplugs with me when I go anywhere, but they don’t help much when lightning is flashing and the tent is buckling about in the wind. There have been too many nights where I felt like if I got out of my tent it would just fly away which would probably be doing me a favor, tbh. 😀 Also, gross as it may be there are times when I just piss out of the tent door and hope for the best. In some terrain and conditions in the blackest parts of the night it is the best thing to do.
@SummitOrNothing4 жыл бұрын
I think Nath needed them for the Dartmoor tale more than the wind and rain lol.
@GMiller753 жыл бұрын
If you are in a tarp, why not take a tinned candle for a bit of heat while lying inside it? Might be worth a wee try to see how it fares. I might have a wee try in my back garden to see how well that works.

I love a good vango tent so reliable bit dodge of naturehike tbh
@SummitOrNothing4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Vango camp was far more sheltered than the nature hike,to be honest, being on the windy side of a hill and the Naturehike tent did survive and has since withstood similar winds with just one additional guy line to the rear window. It is a decent bit of kit which I still take out over the Vango. Cheers for watching!

If Nath had just realised he was a fair weather camper earlier (which definitely I am), he would probably still be enjoying it. I get why people like camping in bad weather, i'd just rather be at home, in the warm with access to a toilet. 😂
