This is the 1st guide i looked up after testing smn a bit (i main hlr and ranged). I was just messing around but it is nice to have reaffirmation that i was on the right oath with my opener and rotation. I like your explanations and i find your video very informative. Hey I'm new to FFXIV (but not MMOs) and I gotta say I love your guides, the remind me of Alucast's for ESO. And others I've seen for WoW. Great for those of us who really want to nail the rotation and get the best numbers possible. I'm just curious, and I apologize if this is a dumb question - but in the video it looked like you had a Carbuncle out. Is Ifrit-Egi not better? Or do you have like a skin on it or something? Again apologize if it's a dumb question, like I said I'm new to the series.

yes it is a skin, many people (including me) really like the carbuncles over the egi's, so sometime during stormblood i believe, they added egi glam, allowing you to turn your normal egi's into a carbuncle of choice :D

when you are soloing you may loose some damage but titan is actually very useful for soloing just about any fate . His stone wall is pretty damn useful. especially because you can quickly summon him . Use 1 stone wall and swap to another pet .youll be down one egi assault and one stack of ruin .so just choose when you feel its okay to swap to him for a brief moment . even if you desummon titan you'll keep the stone wall you casted and still have your damage pet out . just what I do when im in a pinch.sometimes I even do it at the start of a fate and then again at near the end and that's usually more than enough to keep me above 50% health during whatever .

Can i ask for the starting rotation, after summoning bahamut i realise there are only 6 wyrmwave cast from gcd spells. Shouldn't it be 8 casts? Or does enkindle also proc wyrmwave as well.

hmm i checked the footage and i count 8, and enkindle (or any other ogcd's) do not proc wyrmwaves, they only proc of gcd's as for the opener -> 8:25

@@IlyaDalamiq I am looking at the opening rotations with the skill icons top of the screen at 8:25. After the 2nd enkindle bahamut, the subsequent icons for the follow up rotation disappeared from the screen. I was wondering what skill to use next after the 2nd enkindle bahamut.

@@josephtheng4686 you can do a few things, the only thing you have to care about is finishing the bahamuth window with 2 instant casts so either 2 r4, or a r4 -> swift r3 or something like that

tri disaster - firebird trance - enkindle phoenix makes it easier to fit all phoenix auto attacks into the phoenix summon

probably best to delay stuff then, but it's going to be a decent dps loss regardless, as you are going to have to use more ruin2's

well dps number right now are still unknown since people are just getting their hands on the new gear, but i've seen people around 18-20k dps and that number will go up until we hit BIS this patch

I'm considering working towards summoner I have dragoon atm and I'm working towards red mage. I was watching videos on summoner only to realize they were all before the rework in shadow bringers it doesn't look like much fun with the rotations now :/

i quite enjoy the current smn, because it actually feels like a smn now, there's much more pet interaction now then ever before it does have allot of moving parts to it's rotation, so it does have a decent learning curve, but once you know how to play it, it's a fun job to play imo :D

I saw that you could summon some of the primals and I was like okay its time lmao. Saw I could use deathflare and got hyped for it. It'll be fun to give it a go eventually
