Sump upgrade part 2

laminar flow , def. Glad about the long weekend, I needed it! Thanks for the input on the plumb job.no prob. On algae scrubber, let me know if you need any more pics of it. It's effective and is cheap to make. Depends on which pump and grow light you want to use

Yeah, if you want to do a quick video on it, I know others would be interested. The prime topic I would be interested in, initially, is what angle do you have the slot in the pipe. I was playing yesterday, with having the slot that the screen goes in, facing horizontal, rather than down. The thought was the water would fill the bottom of the pipe before overflowing. Maybe its not all that important, but I wanted to see if the flow could be spread evenly across the screen, as much as possible.

everything looks great what size did you get glass baffles cut im doing a 40 long on a 180

the baffle by the skimmer i was gonna do at 9 half high but needed to know what width you used for baffle i know you have to take some off for the silicone thx

I had the baffle cut at 11 and 7/8 . the inside width is 12 inches. I left a 8th of an inch for wiggle room. Some people even take a 1/4 off so they have an 8th on each side. So be sure to measure the inside width of the tank. The silicon will keep the baffle in place.If you are worried and still not sure,best thing to do is get a piece of cardboard and cut it to fit inside the tank. Once your happy with it measure the cardboard and thats the size!. On Another note : PLEASE pay the extra $ to have the glass edges polished. In the future when you need to put your hands in the sump you will be thankful you did! Hope that helps you out.

i was going to have the length of my baffles cut at 9" my skimmer max is 10 and the baffle by the return pump at 8 my return pump is a little taller do you think that would be ok

@@leilarivera9721 yes I did. The eggcrate rests on top of it.

@@leilarivera9721 your skimmer is 10 inches? Do you mean the recommend hight of water for your skimmer? And the hight for your return pump is 8. But it sticks out? What do you mean by that? Just keep in mind the return pump needs so much water over the intake or it will start to create a vortex and pull air from the surface. Kinda like a tornado creating massive bubbles in your return line.
