@Emanna81 Жыл бұрын
The eggs are usually attached to the abdomen of the female. Until they hatch.

how was the longevity ?

Pretty good. I used it for over a year. No problems. I grew a bunch of coral under it. Not bad for the money.

If the water level is that high what is the point of the baffles? I'm only asking because I'm about to start my own diy sump and I'm curious. Not trying to be a d...
@Emanna81 Жыл бұрын
It's cool ,no worries. The first part holds the filter socks and the protein skimmer. The skimmer produces a ton of bubbles. The first baffle forces the bubbles to go to the surface and pop making the second chamber clear. The second chamber is the refugium. It holds the chaeto. Extra live rock and helps become a breeding area for copepods. The 3rd part helps reduce the bubble further and has egg create along with a strip of filter pad to trap any algae that might make it to the filter. This helps greatly in stopping clogs and snails from making it to the pump which NEVER ends well.

I think the pods don't mind the dirt in the water...,. they will just eat it

Do you think you have to put the culture at 1.025? Mine came in 1.020, and I've been keeping it at 1.020.

It should be fine. You can also add some water to drip it down if you want.

@@Emanna81 youtube didn't notify me you responded. Thanks. BTW what species is this? I find Apocyclops pods so hard to see but they're supposed to be one of the bigger types of species.

@@Emanna81What kind of lighting should I use (probably an obvious answer). I see people use pretty expensive lighting sometimes and I’m wondering what spectrum it should have. Like, is a regular lightbulb enough?
@reefmagick4462 жыл бұрын
I been running this on my 32 biocube been growing gonapora, Galicia, frogspawn, hammers, elegance coral it absolutely is 💯 percent a great light all these other expensive stuff just makes there par levels so high you need to keep them either at 50 percent or hang them Hella high. If your looking for something that is legit and will grow coral this is it. Also it hits the water and strait shimmers it so dope like it's a triple AAA in my book

Can I use this light for a fresh water tank?
@marcusanderson61312 жыл бұрын
I bought this light recently. My concern is the aluminum bracket is partially submerged in water in my evo 13.5 and worry a little bit about corrosion and dissolved aluminum in the water. I know it's painted, but that doesn't seem like it would be a very reliable barrier.
@Tintl32 жыл бұрын
Thought the exactly same and deciced to dip the brackets in rubber paint (like plastidip).

What is your method of keeping each culture of phyto after using it on you pods, do you refrigerate it and use it for the pods and your tank until you need more or, do you use a fresh culture for each fresh culture of pods and the refrigerated culture for the tank?

isnt it easy to just buy copepods?
@puggles57442 жыл бұрын
It is more convenient. But pet shops and online stores charge outrageous prices for a small bottle of them. If you have fish and corals that feed on them, then they go pretty quick. It is much cost efficient to culture your own then to constantly buy them.
