For all of the criticism that Marcus Freeman sometimes gets (including from myself sometimes, lol), he has truly done a commendable job overall as a relatively new head coach at one of the most storied programs in college football history. Awesome to get 10 wins, and awesome to win your bowl game for the second year in a row. Yes, ND could have finished with more wins, but this is the learning curve for their program and coaching staff. I hope they continue to improve and eventually become a part of the CFP dialogue. 👍

I love the Sun Bowl. I’ve watched every edition since the Irish were in it back in 2010. Although it’s obviously not where we intended to end the season, I was happy that they got to go back to El Paso. Onto next season! With our schedule, the Irish should go 12-0!

Amusing how prevalent Notre Dame hate is across college football. “This win means nothing, Oregon St is a different team.” And so is Notre Dame with players sitting out that accounted for… 90% of passing yards, 67% of rushing yards, 64% of receiving yards, and 21% of all tackles. The reality of college ball is that non-playoff bowl games no longer mean much of anything. Notre Dame has more depth, played well today, and is set up well for next season with their work in the portal. A win against a ranked opponent to end the season does nothing but help recruiting efforts.

In a thrilling display of football, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish trounced the Oregon State Beavers in a game that ended with a scoreline of 40-8 in favor of the Irish. The game took place on Friday, 29th December 2023. The Beavers, despite their best efforts, were unable to match the intensity and precision of the Irish. Standout performances from the Beavers included Silas Bolden with 28 receiving yards and 3 receptions, Ben Gulbranson with 180 passing yards and a touchdown, and Deshaun Fenwick with 15 rushing yards. Jimmy Valsin III also made his mark with 51 receiving yards, 3 receptions, and a touchdown. However, the day belonged to the Fighting Irish. Jeremiyah Love impressed with 13 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 39 rushing yards. Jadarian Price contributed significantly with 106 rushing yards and a touchdown. Jordan Faison had an outstanding game with 115 receiving yards, 5 receptions, and a touchdown. Steve Angeli showcased his skills with 232 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and 27 rushing yards. Chase Ketterer also scored a touchdown and made 6 rushing yards. The Beavers struggled throughout the game, with their offense only managing to make one play in Notre Dame territory in the first half. The Irish dominated the first half, leading 14-0 and out-gaining the Beavers 200-103 in yardage. This game will be remembered for the Irish's dominant performance and serves as a testament to their prowess on the field.

Only 2 safety have occurred in the 2023/4 NCAA Bowls (think FSU/GA did too maybe) It's the D version of the FG imho. Defence can kick the ball as Offence can (especially in Canada) but it's not technically to score. Hence this happens by Defence force score (think both D/O can take knee in endzone w/o score maybe, O is less likely to not score as TD is the reason behind it often) Wish America was strong enough to bring in the single point and ad a third way for both (especially Offences) to score in the game.

If DJ played he would have struggled too. NotreDames defense is really good. They shut down Ohio States offense and Usc offense. The 3 losses the offense couldn't produce enough points. Rarely are you going to win in college football today scoring 14, 20 and 23 points against teams that have good offenses themselves

I find it extremely hypocritical that folks are "upset" FSU didn't ball-out in the Orange Bowl to keep with the "integrity" of college football when they told FSU to stop whining over being screwed over. Secondly.....Dan is complaining about the NIL and the transfer portal is the issue.....but completely silent over the influence of Vegas, boosters, and networks ruining College Football on a daily basis.
