You’d be better off to quit while you’re ahead, even a football player would lose against construction workers any day of the week, I can even tell you why; a football player will likely go to the gym 3-4 days of the week, shifting focus between different muscle group and rest days in between, a construction worker is doing this shit likely 6 days a week and it’s not even training, it’s just their job and they’re taking extra hours to feed their families all of which is demanding all the energy of their arms and upper torso with little rest. If this guy has been doing this for 70 years, that arm can just as easily crush you as a sledge hammer crushes unpaved rocks

@@cennedystv8098 nothing to do with ozon, it's UVA rays that do this. Ozon blocks UVC(all) and UVB(some). UVA is the thing that travels deep and damages our DNA.

Sun damage can be so awful. I was called to another unit to start an IV on a man who had worked on his dad’s fishing boat since he was a young boy - - then on that boat after his dad retired. No one who had tried to start it, had been able to. His arms had skin that resembled a gator’s skin. The first needle I used, didn’t go through that skin and just curled up into an arc. After warning him that I was going to have to use a bit of force to get through his skin (and into his vein), I got it through. It was one of the most difficult IV insertions I’d ever done.

My black girl friends will complain about their acne scars and laugh when i say sunscreen will help them lighten up(i had severe acne like i couldn’t touch my face and my scars were terrible and now i don’t have any after 3 years of constant care and sunscreen). Looking back on the Declaration of Independence almost 50 years later, Thomas Jefferson explained that the document’s purpose was never meant to be thoroughly original; its purpose wasn’t to articulate anything that hadn’t be said before, but to make the case for the American colonies in plain terms and persuade the world to see common sense. “It was intended to be an expression of the American mind,” Jefferson explains. He goes on to claim that “[the Declaration’s] authority rests then on the harmonizing sentiments of the day.” (Jefferson to Henry Lee, May 8, 1825) Jefferson finished his timeless defense of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” in little more than two weeks, and like most writers, he was no stranger to the revision process. Between the Committee of Five and the Second Continental Congress, there were 86 edits to the document. The Second Continental Congress removed whole sections. Jefferson was most angered by the removal of one particular clause, a clause blaming the King for forcing the slave trade upon the American colonies. The final draft of the Declaration of Independence contains a preamble, a list of grievances, a formal declaration of independence, and signatures. Preamble This first part of the Declaration contains an assertion of individual rights. Perhaps the most famous line states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” This part goes on to say that if the government tries to take these rights away, the people have the right to form a new government. Jefferson also addresses a counterclaim in this section, acknowledging that “Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes…” He counters by reminding his audience of the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that makes it “…their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” Grievances The longest part of the Declaration begins with "He has refused his Assent to Laws" and goes on to list the unfair actions of the British king and Parliament. In their complaints, the colonists make it clear that they are angry with the British king and government for taking away their rights as English citizens. They point out that the king has ignored or changed their colonial governments, as well as their rights to a trial by jury. The colonists accuse the king of sending a hired army to force them to obey unjust laws. They say the king is “unfit to be the ruler of a free people.” Note: The norms and structure of argumentative writing in the 18th century were different than they are in the 21st century. The list of grievances that serves as the Declaration’s evidence seems largely anecdotal by today’s standards. However, the Declaration’s claim and underlying assumption (big idea) are especially applicable to the writing standards of 21st-century classrooms. Formal declaration of independence The final paragraph, beginning with "We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America," affirms that the 13 colonies are free and independent states. It breaks all ties with the British government and people. As independent states, they can make trade agreements and treaties, wage war, and do whatever is necessary to govern themselves. This formal declaration of independence ends with important words. The words tell us what the signers of the Declaration of Independence were willing to give up for freedom: “…we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” Signatures There are 56 signatures on the Declaration of Independence. Fifty men from 13 states signed the document on August 2 in 1776. The other six signed over the course of the next year and a half. As the President of the Second Continental Congress, John Hancock signed first. He wrote his name very large. Some of the men abbreviated their first names, like Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. All of the signers risked their lives when they signed the Declaration of Independence. Legacy of the argument Contrary to popular belief, the words of the Declaration of Independence did not gain immediate prominence. In fact, they remained obscure for decades. And yet the spirit of the Declaration caused ripples almost immediately, most famously with the French Revolution in 1789. The Haitian Revolution followed soon after, and the subsequent decades would see many Latin American countries continuing the fight for independence from colonial powers. In 1945, Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh also invoked the document when declaring Vietnamese independence from the French colonial empire. Within the U.S., the women’s suffrage movement adapted the Declaration of Independence for their cause, asserting in the 1848 Declaration of Sentiments that “all men and women are created equal.” Meanwhile, the country’s celebrations of independence haunted enslaved people and abolitionists like Frederick Douglass, whose 1852 speech “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” pondered the nation’s shortcoming despite its dedication to values like liberty. As Douglass said, “This Fourth of July is yours, not mine. You may rejoice, I must mourn.” As World War I came to a close, leaders from Eastern Europe gathered inside Independence Hall on October 26, 1918 to sign the Declaration of Common Aims of the Independent Mid-European Nations. Those gathering in Independence Hall that day sought to bring autonomy to the nations of the former Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires. The signers pledged their mutual support and their belief that “it is the unalienable right of every people to organize their own governments on such principles and in such forms as they believe will best promote their welfare, safety, and happiness.” After the signing ceremony, Doctor Thomas Masaryk, the first president of Czechoslovakia, read the Declaration of Common Aims on Independence Square, just as John Nixon read the Declaration of Independence on July 8, 1776

My grandpa was a construction worker and worked outside for a lot of his life. His arms looked exactly like this, and he had some minor not so serious melanoma one time and after it was removed he was fine until he passed away. He lived to be 74, he would have lived much longer but after grandma passed away, he stopped caring. Ultimately he stopped taking his diabetes meds and started eating whatever he wanted. The first time we found out how bad he had gotten was one night when we got a call from one of his neighbors. He was wandering around looking for my brother (who lived 4 states north) and when the ambulance arrived and they checked his blood sugar, it was over 600 (it's supposed to be 120 for diabetics after a meal). After this, he slowly degraded to skin and bones and rotting feet over the next 2 years. He got Alzheimer's/brain damage from all the strokes and starving his brain went through. We knew it was over when he couldn't leave the bed anymore, and eventually he couldn't eat anymore, then he couldn't even sip water, just wet his mouth with those little spongesickles. Im glad his suffering is over but I wish he'd never had to go through it to begin with. I wish he was here still takin his meds and goin on road trips like he always wanted.

My grandpa is 78 years old and he is just like this, he got even darker, and he was pale as milk. He worked his whole life outside, in a place that gets temperatures like 38°C, it's super dry and hot, and he needed to work all the time, and even so they still starved many days, him and his family. And he is such a nice person, always opthimistic, such good company, so patient, he is like the best person I know.

My grandpa’s skin is like that. He’s told me so many stories on how he worked on this and that part of the country. Even though he has retired from actual work he still does a lot of stuff around his house, fixing, wood work, paint walls and grow fruits and veggies in his backyard. Always a hard worker my grandpa.

My late Pop-Pop was just like this. He was a farmer, always wore button-down shirt, overalls, and black jeans. Very tan man. Fast forward to when we started living there and for the first time by accident he was getting ready for work and I was just getting out of the shower and BOOM, pale blinding white legs and thighs. I think most Asian people just doesnt like to get dark. Its a class thing, for when back in the days, if youre wealthy, youd stay indoor and have other people tend to the garden for you. So naturally those who are rich gets less exposure to the sun, and therefore have a more pail skin, while the ones that tends to the garden and farmland are more tan. Same with youre weight. If youre a little fat, people consider thats a good traight because youre rich enough to eat well.

My mom's skin looks a lot similar to this, except she wears so many types of "miracle" creams that are supposed to rejuvenate your skin (I understand it doesn't really do anything). The cream really just moisturizes her skin and her skin is still soft and smooth despite being much more tan and having sun damage spots in comparison to her ghost pale white varicose-ridden legs. She doesn't find it necessary to wear sunscreen despite wanting her sun damage spots to go away.

Exact same for me, got my first deer the night he passed, he had been sleeping for like 3 days and not responding or whatever, went in and told him about my deer. He woke up with a huge smile, took everything in him but he was up for a few seconds. I gave him a hug and he fell back asleep. I had to leave right there I was a mess.

Skip for the last point after the -- to get the tips From my own research of scientific papers, which wasn't too exhaustive, here are some tips and explanations for a good life-long attitude towards the fusion reactor we orbit around. We need the sun for two things: Vitamin D and tanning (social needs). The UV-A and UV-B rays both cause tanning, but UV-B causes deeper, long lasting tanning. Regarding vitamin D, only the UV-B is needed in its production. Both cause skin damage in different ways, but UV-B is somewhat necessary and UV-A should always be avoided. Sun-protection lotions usually block UV-A much less because it is more difficult to do so. So when you use them, you believe you have full protection against all of the UV spectra but it is often not the case, and end up taking dangerous doses. I would avoid them and just focus on proper clothing and being aware of the risks. A constant proper attitude is better than trusting some lotion to protect you from getting cooked 5 hours straight at the beach. Throughout the day, UV-A stays relatively constant from sunrise to sunset, compared to UV-B which peaks at noon. So if we want to receive B and avoid A, contrary to what many think, a very short exposure when the sun is at its highest point is the most optimum way. Clouds and windows block most UV-B radiation, and let most UV-A pass through. Do not sunbathe behind closed windows, or expose yourself at cloudy days thinking it's alright. Literally the same problem as with lotions; you think it's alright because you don't feel the sun as much, but in reality UV-A are hitting you just fine, so just be ware of it! If you would wear something to protect you if it wasn't cloudy, wear it anyways. Clouds do not protect After receiving UV light, the skin starts getting damaged in multiple ways. One of them consists of accumulation of energetic particles, radicals, which continue damaging the skin around 10 to 60 min after the exposure. So, never be guided by your feelings, if it's starting to burn you and you feel it, or the skin is already irritated, you should have been out hour/s ago. Skin types dictate the recommended exposure times. The darker, the more sun exposure your body can endure. Research it on your own. Some studies point out that some animals repare skin sun damage best at sunrise, others at sunset. In the case of humans, it's sunrise, after sleeping. So, in order to receive less damage, we must avoid evening exposure and sleep enough. A well rested human, sunbathing for a short time, an hour before noon might be the optimal way of doing it. Least UV-A/UV-B ratio and best body response. --------------------------------------------------- TIPS Try to have short but almost daily exposure some time before noon. Long, evening exposures, no matter how infrequent, are much more damaging. Do not trust clouds, windows and sun creams from protecting you. Act as if they weren't there. Sun creams can be good if you absolutely need to stay out, but research them before buying, check they block the whole spectra of UV-A and UV-B. Take your skin color into account. The darker, the more time you can stay out. (And should, because vitamin D production is very low on darkskin people, and high on lightskin) You need vitamin D. Even if you don't care about not looking like a vampire, vitamin D is essential. You can supplement your diet with foods that contain it: supplemented milk for example. In some countries like Italy they have products with added vitamin D

You only need about 10 mins of sun exposure to get sufficient Vitamin D. And it has to be either in the morning or late afternoon when the sun is just above the horizon. Anymore than 10 mins, especially during noontime, will cause more skin damage than Vitamin D benefits. There are also Vitamin D3 supplements. People in northern countries take them to offset the limited daylight hours during winter. Moreover, different people with different skin pigmentation require different amounts of sunlight. A pale skin person requires less time out in the sun to absorb the same amount of benefits compared to a darker skinned person. Melanin pigments help protect against the sun, which is why dark-skinned people can stay out longer in the sun while pale skin people get easily sunburned within a short time. Please consult actual medical research before giving out general advice because it's different for everybody.
