In the last video we decided to change our destination from Huntsville, Alabama to Mount Vernon, Illinois (MVN) to eat lunch. Jaime crawls in the back to take a nap, I discuss some of the things we did at Sun n Fun and our decision to upgrade our avionics to a full Avidyne suite. I try to make an RNAV approach and land without waking up Jaime.

Glad you found us Fred and hope you're enjoying all the past videos and the future ones (or at least some of them)! It's never too late to learn to fly if you can pass the medical. I heard of a 70 something year old getting their license not long ago. If you are medically capable, I'm sure a local flight school offers reduced rate introductory rides...might be worth checking out. Either way...happy to have you rinding along with us!!

@@ekraszewski you cannot title a video using the term co-pilot, and then a few seconds into the video saying, she's asleep, and then she shows her head turns and shakes her blanket. You cannot call her a co-pilot in the thumbnail and a passenger in the fake video. I'm not at all satisfied with safety precautions of a co-pilot climbing over a seat to get to the back and take a nap, even if the nap were legitimate and not staged. Sorry, but this is a fake operation by a character who speaks with atrocious grammar. Personally I cannot believe that the FAA would give a license to an Airman who was so linguistically challenged.

I think you’ll enjoy the active traffic. I have it on my L-3 9000+. The big advantage of active traffic before the mandate goes into effect is seeing planes that are in traffic patterns and below radar coverage. I forgot the excitement of a new autopilot. I flew my plane for 7 years before I added the STEC 60-2. A full function autopilot really takes off the workload for the very reasons you mentioned in your video.

There’s a lot of great electronics out there for GA aircraft these days. Amazing! The 750 worked for us. Also, asked you about the Lightspeed’s in a previous vid as I was in the market. Bought the Zulu 3s and love them. Thanks for the guidance and the videos. Enjoy!

I really loved my Zulu 2's for many years and just recently upgraded to 3's myself and like them even more. Great video and well done yet again! I used to always think Garmin was the only way to go, until recently when Avidnye has been putting out some really great products. Garmin still makes great products and having a combo of the 2 like you have is a show stopper and a great touch.

Thank you Papa...glad you enjoyed it! I used to think the same way as you and my plane was starting to look like a Garmin poster but after seeing Avidyne's current selection of avionics I decided to part with my past thinking as I truly liked their stuff better. Not knocking Garmin or those that choose to upgrade/stay with them. Just showing and explaining why/what we decided was best for us. After we get the full Avidyne suite installed I'll do some videos showing how all their stuff works for people still deciding what path to take. :)

When you showed closeups of the gauges, etc, if there'd be any interest in having a camera aimed at them that someone could watch side-by-side with the main video. Also, since I'm a photo/video nerd, how about a LED light strip lighting the whole console from the overhang above them. So long as it didn't interfere with your ability to see the console, that could be not only great for seeing them better, but cool looking as well. Love your channel.

Great video as always thank you. I thought that landing was fun to watch, little challenging? You only flew the plane 10% of the time! LOL. Getting that Cessna squared away in the cockpit. Very cool. Look forward to the flight back.

Glad you enjoyed it! It really wasn't an overly challenging landing (unfortunately)...it was just good old fashioned, I messed up. :) I was due a bad one anyway I suppose. It does help get a feel for things if you snap the autopilot off a little sooner. We are LOVING how the cockpit is turning out...very capable and safe. :)

I flew into there years ago. We noped out about staying at Kentucky damn once we found out it was a dry county and you have to drive to Paducah to get beer. They did have shuttle service from the airport and good food at the local restaurant and nice people. Went to Grand glaize in the Ozarks instead..😆

For better landings try letting off R2 and push the joystick forward then hold L2 till she stops.

Excellent, that wasn’t a bad landing, I’ve left people with compression of the spine! I will bet some are still walking like a crab 🦀 I think Jamie was ready for a good bo bo I know when I’m not flying the aeroplane I can go out like switching a light off. Another superb vid! I don’t know why I keep saying that you don’t make bad ones. See you next week. Stephen. 😃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Thank you Stephen! I'm pretty hard on myself with grading my landings. I guess a lot of us are. Luckily I haven't had a scary landing in a long time and I hope that trend continues. :) I'm the same as you...if I'm not flying, I will fall asleep quickly. On an airliner I usually sleep the entire flight.

What a vast improvement the "new" autopilot has given 1BC! I am sure it feels like a different plane in flight. What a great year for Avionics upgrades, I have been really impressed with the Avidyne Suite myself although I haven't had an opportunity to fly with it yet. I can't wait to see some of your upcoming trips and new destinations! Thanks for sharing your passion with us! Oh, and my brother and I just got our first plane! Cherokee PA28-160, Woo Hoo!! I will Instagram you a few photos. After years of harassing, he is finally taking the plunge and getting his PPL. It needs a few panel upgrades, but we have time build it up. First on the list is a GPS and the ADS-B update. We will have to start with probably a Garmin 430/530 to get us a primary nav com. We don't plan on going crazy as we totally plan to use this great little plane as a stepping stone to the next one, :-) . Anyways thanks again Kevin for sharing your videos!

Congrats Kyle on your new plane!!!!! That is awesome! You are going to love aviation even more (yes it's possible) having your own plane. You can be spontaneous...not worry about getting it back for the next person...the condition based on who flew it last...etc. Sounds like you have a perfect plan for your new plane. So you flying it to OSH this year?? :)
