Derek, you blew this ship tour out of the water! This is your best one yet. You keep improving each time. I am so excited to sail her next year! Usually princess ships are small and personable, so Sun Princess seems like a lot to take in! She's incredible, though!

would rather have Princess stay as is for empty nesters and seniors. I have raised my two daughters and enjoy a cruise without little ones around me. They are 44 and 42 now and I take them on Princess Cruise lines as my guests. Me, my daughter and son-in-law will be on this ship in April 2025.

There is something seriously wrong with the management at RCI and Carnival and those immediately running Princess and Celebrity with the way they've designed their new class of ships. I think it's just a matter of time before they do the same thing with HAL. We don't always need to go younger. It's OK to have a ship for discerning 30 smoethings to 80s and with the majority being 55 plus. When I was 40 I enjoyed what the so-called "older" generation did so not all people of any generation want the same thing. I don't mind a few kids but the ship should feel mature if it is so-called "premium" and Princess and Celebrity are getting away from that.

I think that when Princess are replacing the Park 19 features that they do so with more attractions for older mature cruisers and not kids. There is a saturation of cruise ships with mega amounts of kids attractions to downright circus playground. Give the older cruisers more to choose from. There is a lot of money out there in the "baby boomer" group that are willing to spend big dollars for the right features.

We love Princess. Lots of cruisers in their 50s-70's. Active people for the most part (especially on TA and Europe or UK). More EU and UK travelers who are friendly- we have made some good friends. Give it a try. (And the children, less of them, are always well-behaved- no crazy running about, out of control.) It's the right price point for us, too.

The International cafe usually has free deserts and snacks as well as some pay for options. This was a great tour! I have sailed on the Prima in the North Sea to Iceland and I was very disappointed in it, it was too cold to enjoy the outside common areas and the inside venues were too small. I also felt like the cabin (inside) on the Jubilee was the smallest cabin I have ever been in. I did like the common areas of the Jubilee. This looks like a fabulous ship! I will definitely try and sail on her. Thanks again.

And I can see the difference in the O’Malley bar because on the enchanted princess they didn’t have the doors and you can walk in and I’ve seen people walk on both sides, so this is great but it looks so nice and shiny like the enchanted princess. Thank you very much.❤❤❤❤

I can’t lie. I’m not sad Park 19 is going away. The reason I love Princess is because it ISN’T a cruise line marketed to families. It makes it a more relaxed experience for us older folks. I’m excited about getting the huge ship experience without massive numbers of kids running around. It’s not that we don’t like kids (we have kids and grandkids) we just don’t want to share our cruise with them.

Very deep and comprehensive video, and certainly appreciate that. I am bummed to hear that they’re removing the kids activities such as the slides from the ships. Two points of recommendation for your videos, one. I get that it’s a long video, but please stop begging for engagement every five minutes, it’s a little annoying. Secondly, I was about to quit your video two minutes in after hearing you butcher Istanbul by calling it Insta bull.

Being a certain age has its advantages in that you see things come and go. So when we get into trends, you have the perspective that some trends you like, some you don't, some you kind of judge as good, others not so much. There is a trend in modern design, or say the current design, to want to lighten and brighten so many spaces. There's nothing different here compared to the NCL Prima, the Celebrity Edge class, the color palette is you can say taupe with some muted colors or greige or whatever you want to. Since ships are often early evening to night time activities, then this lightness and brightness is for what, exactly? I don't find this decor that appealing and prefer a deeper color palette. It's not that I like contemporary vs. traditional. Good design is good design because the spaces invite or evoke certain feelings and activites. So you can go about it using various styles. To me OMalley's, Spellbound and the Japanese restaurant have the deeper colors. But function? If you see a lot of lines, something is wrong. If you think a space seems loud or has an echo, something's wrong. If you have trouble finding areas, the signage or the flow is wrong. So, if you ask what is Princess and in any era, there is no "new generation" thing. That's nonsense. That's a way to justify revenue enhancements and limit a product in the name of so-called good business. We live in cycles where we all are the new generation and we become the middle age generation and then the "older" generation and then seniors. Do our tastes change? Sometimes. Sometimes not. Of course there are new technlogies. And how long do they last? Not all that long. All that seems so new now in this ship will be commonplace in a few years and then old tech by the time the next gen comes out in 8-10 years. Acrobats are all the rage now. Stadium atria or tiered stuff. Hence the dome that shuts down daily and throws people out of it. Ship within a ship classism that we thought we were done with is back. This Sun Princess is trendy and it actually deletes some spaces from ships people have come to seek out. Is that good? I don't like the Celebrity Edge class because it deleted spaces and it is a generic, Celebrity-ized modern ship. This looks like a Princess-ized modern ship rather than a Princess ship.

This is not an Excel class ship Sun and her sister Star are Sphere class a new custom class for Princess Cruise lines
@IslandTimeTravel2 ай бұрын
They are indeed in the Sphere class as I referenced in the first 90 seconds of the video. They are also part of the Excel class of ship from the Carnival Corporation perspective. The company has now built or will build over 10 of these ships. The ships have just about the same specs as far as size, but each brand has the freedom and flexibility to design as they see fit.
@ShipfacedTony2 ай бұрын
@@IslandTimeTravel this is incorrect my friend. Excel and sphere are two totally different ship classes, sharing almost nothing in terms of naval architecture in common.

A lot of these contemporary ships are boring. I thought the Celebrity Edge class was boring but this one may be even more boring. why in the world are they all using this nondescript furnishings, gray/taupe/beige everywhere look and that soft but sterile lighting. Where is the richness that Princess, Celebrity once had? But at least the Celebrity ships look finished. This looks unfinished. I don't mean to knock Princess and maybe some areas of the ship are OK once you are on it but they could have done much better. Be different, not trendy.
