I agree. The pool bar service was a big letdown! On our cruise (Enchanted) we stuck mostly with Bellini Bar

That Crown Grill did not look like any Crown Grill I’ve ever seen on other Princess Ships - kind of like hotel banquet room or more like a cafeteria or something. Weird design for their newest ship. I wonder who their new designer is. I think I’m staying with the Royal Class ships.

Yes, you are correct. The Sun Princess is a whole different animal... And, when they decided to change the restaurants around, Butcher's Block got the Crown Grill location, and Crown Grill got bumped down. We didi NOT have a good experience there. Overcooked tiny filet that was like 'char'. Wished we had ordered the upcharge steaks from the Butcher's Block steaks.

We made reservations for the Crown Grill on The Ruby Princess in February. I wonder if I mentioned up front that we wanted to get somewhere within an hour that maybe they would expedite the service. Is specialty dining supposed to take several hours? That seems too long.

From our past experiences, usually specialty dining takes about 2 hours most of the time. It's meant to be a bit of a more fine dining experience than the main dining room.

Hey!!! do they actually have any bottled water that is NOT mineral water with sodium in it??? Another thing that they have been 'out of'. We begged for them to find us Evian, especially as we were Sanctuary Class. And, they changed the tea 'syrup'.. and it was then really nasty. Tasted like fake Kool-aid or Lipton maybe with lemon 'flavor'. Ugggghhhh. We didn't see Legacy... the shows we did see were very good!!! Wanted to see Blue... but it wasn't showing. Liked Janice Martin, and the Latin Production show was great.

@@SharonatSeaTravel It was a regular plastic bottled water, but when looking at the European label, it was Mineral Water!!! There was no regular 'fresh' water to be found. We were Sanctuary, and we were given some Evian in our room, and begged for Evian in the Sanctuary, but by the end of the cruise, we were lucky to find anyone who would 'find' us a couple. And the tea they changed to was so bad!!! Talk about begging for hydration.... We posted a series of daily reviews of this cruise. "Oct 14 Sun Princess" on Cruise Critic.. And can def. confirm some of the things you mention. We have just basically given up on Crown Grill. We had Filet, and ours was small and over cooked... 'char'... We are almost Elite on Princess.... and this has us thinking of cancelling our next booking. The one thing that comes to mind, as a Princess cruiser... this new ship just does not have any 'soul'.

Clapping because food comes out is not a good sign. Clearly at the prices they charge they need more staff including kitchen. Offering unlimited speciaility without added dining slots, space and staff was sure to be problematic.

Since it was included in our Premier package we indulged in a few, but we would definitely not pay that price for those either.

The coffee is great! and well worth it for a coffee drinker. The desserts.... most definitely not worth any extra.

Thank you as always for your content. I don't often say anything negative, and this is nothing to do with you yourselves, but that Crown Grill did not look like an upscale steakhouse at all! Too bright, plain furniture and no ambience. I'm surprised because Princess is usually a little classier, but this place missed the mark big time.
