Sun Seeker Eco Delta Electric Trike Review - 1.8k

The Sun Seeker Eco Delta Electric Trike is a recumbent electric trike with a higher seat, more relaxed bars and lower price point, the delta frame design positions one wheel in the front and two in the back. Highly adjustable seat angle and overall bike length for comfortable reach and pedaling, the chain guide, mechanical disc brake and parking brake work well. This is a conversion electric bike so wires aren't as hidden and the motor mount uses a torque arm to distribute force, it comes in several colors and ships ready to ride. No basket with this trike but the battery pack is removable, limited 7 speed drivetrain with off-brand components from Sun, display panel is not removable.

Looks great and thanks for detailed explanation. If the pedal was 20-30 cm below you could have lower angle on the stearing so that it won't hit your knee. That way it would be more comfortable for the arms during longer rides.

Great review - nice simple electric trike - I ride a Delta myself - not great in the corning like a Tadpole but I am no speed demon any more - its all about a relaxing ride - Deltas make for a great commuter trike, nice and high seating position - a winner at a good price point. Cheers, Patrick

some dempers on the back wheels and wind shield in front, it's the best bike you review so far. Good job. 48v, 50ah battery ,on the entire frame length , two 750 watt motor ) front and rear and 3 britek Never Flat tires. The perfect long range bike

It's mid February in a month or so the weather will be starting to warm up Iv'e been interested in motor bikes for a while now especially trikes , I need cargo capacity like a large basket, all so a trailer hitch So when the need arises I can pull a trailer or other small wagon . like a good weeks load groceries or a couple large cat carriers. Every trike Iv'e seen is like for Older people or the handicapped Nothing against seniors or the physically challenged , Happy to see them getting out on the road I need to travel far and , get there fast with a load in the cart, on the road and the trail Dose this trike possess a rear differential axle, so you can make a tight turn without dragging your wheels power over rocks sand no matter which wheel has traction or ground contact What about shocks for rocks and potholes I see kids zooming along on "gas bikes" going 45-50 mph well 30+ easy for some reason they have E bikes jailed at 20 mph gas bikes go as fast as a good mechanic wrench, knowledge, talent will take you

hey i wonder if you could put something together... I was thinking you should find a person who rides competitively on a regular racing bike and have them race an average joe off the street on an e-bike just to show the difference an electric bike makes. it doesn't necessarily have to be a tour de france winner or something but yeah...

@Relient Kid: We can build with a direct-drive motor (required for reverse to function) and reverse button, as seen in the "24" traditional trike" that court linked to in his comment. We have offered a reverse button for our E-TrikeKit conversion system for the last 6 years, so it is tried and true technology for us.We chose to go with the geared motor instead on this bike because it is 4lbs lighter, but the extra weight is not a disadvantage if you need reverse. There is no extra charge for this. Just let us know you need reverse when ordering over the phone or online and we will take care of it during assembly. @George Herman 300lbs is the weight limit for this trike. 200lbs is no problem for this trike, many are being used with more weight than that.

Now take this, add a cabin, maybe a second or third battery with a 12v car battery to power a rear window defroster from a car, and you have a perfect electric bicycle for rain and winter riding.

Too bad this particular trike is unsafe when cornering past 15mph, super easy to lift a wheel, then if you over compensate you may end up tipping over or veering off the road.
