Whats your idea of being mentally stable anyway? Less choing? Even Ma Long and Zhang Jike cho as loud as possible when they were serious. Both of them are not as stable as Lin mentally then?

Lin is really talented, with good offence and defence, forehand and backhand, and also with great touch. He just needs more power.

stability is better than power. What is use of power like Sun Wen when hits outside or fails. On occasions you see Lin Yun just blocking and watching where the ball come next. Max power you can have without failing is the more beneficial power. Max power does not mean are stronger than your opponent, it just means optimal power without failing.

Sun Wen gave up towards the end. He had no solution to Lin's backhand banana and Lin could counter his weak open. Lin, on the other hand, plays with such confidence and freedom. He has always looked good. Maybe now he has arrived? And the results will follow.

SW lacks the experience unfortunately. He's a solid player but lots of brute force with unnecessarily large movements that slow him down. He has a lot of edges that need to be smoothed out and his strategy needs to improve. SW's mental strength is also weak as he broke down after the second game. LYJ on the other hand is a more mature player despite his young age and his snappy movement has no waste allowing him to recover quickly.

It's Lin's red bull that gets me. Why would any pro table tennis player, playing an important semi-final, need caffeine to pump them up? Could he be on tranquillizers? Allergy meds? Some nervous system problem? Or could that be fake red bull to screw with his opponent? I hope it's the latter, because that would be super-villain-level cunning. As for his play, it was sublime. Against someone who outplayed Liang Jinkun yesterday. Awesome shotmaking.

SW just lost it, patience, focus, calmness, he lost it all, I guess everyone know why he's not in China A team before this now. LJY got better footwork with effective pivot all the time after 1st set, great FH both offence and defence, strong BH flip with creative placement, more importantly, calm, just chill. TH is 15 while LYJ is 18, not that far but.....
