Sunbeam Rapier Fastback H120 Cleanup for export

Rare Holbay engined Rapier H120 Fastback, as well as being number 10 off the line, not strictly a barn find, the owners always knew it was there. Kept approx 40 years in storage until i bought it and pulled it out. Here is video of the basic clean and de cobweb as it has been sold to a customer in Australia who will do a complete restoration.

Just last week I took delivery of a 1969 Sunbeam Alpine Coupe with 3600 original miles. I would bet that it is the finest example in the US and drives like a brand new car, which essentially it is!

Amazing how 60s and 70s cars are still turning up in restorable condition having been squirrelled away for decades. I’m glad this one has only been discovered now - even ten years ago its desirability just wouldn’t have been assured.

In white, with the boot concave painted black, on a set of Minilites. Restomodded to discs all round and an engine tickle, lowered just a tad...awesome.

The only good thing that has come from ULEZ & Net Zero is that all the old cars that have sat in storage for decades are now worth restoring and puting back on the road! Even if this one is heading for Aus! They have a distinct look that modern cars do not possess! They bring back memories of when I was a lad in the Rootes Drawing office!

Interesting that these cars are so valuable in Australia when they were never sold here. With our quarantine requirements any import has to be spotless, no disease, insect, animal or plant material.

If only we in the UK had such stringent laws for entry into the UK, It might just stop the Migrants in Dinghy's crossing the Channel! As we could class them as an invasive species! ( might even get to exterminate them)! Cheaper than puting them up in 4**** hotels!😂😂
