I’d be tempted to just make one library with all of your books and comfy chairs, nice lamps etc

what about converting the attic room into an office since with just the two of you you don't really need a 3rd bedroom right now? i've seen a few youtubers put in garden studios ... and then rarely use them! and a wild large garden would feel so luxurious in london.... you could always put a studio in at a later date if you felt it really needed

Agree, I thought this too!! You can reconvert it into a bedroom etc later someday but attic could make a lovely office!

I love the house plans! Not that it is my business or anything but would you consider the idea of just having one big library room that you could make cosy and have a dream home library? Like I said its just a question! The house plans look great!

You might want to get the house tested for mold if it has a musty smell. You can order little tests online to send in to a lab, and if they come back positive have an inspector come out. Before you start to do all your lovely plans it would be great to get that taken care of first, if need be.

Are you adapting your eating habits in any way to accommodate your training? Or has that not changed at all? Would love to hear a bit about this. 😊 So exciting to see the house plans coming together!

Halloweeny vibes and house plans, my favourite kind of vlog! We are hoping to move soon and plan to do exactly the same kind of thing with a garden office/ studio. I like that it sort of turns the garden more into a courtyard type thing and I don’t mind it making the garden that much smaller. It’s a look I like. Oh and agree with Hannah - the Melrose novels are much better for being read in order. Certainly after the first novel you gain understanding of just how damaged Patrick is - it carries you through the books I found.

As someone who is into architecture, I’m in absolute awe over your house. You guys have incredible taste and great ideas. Im extremely excited for you! I’m starting my renovations soon as well and we have a huge bedroom with an open bathroom and wet room directly under the roof. Hopefully it’ll look stunning as well. Much love!

so excited about house stuff! you should seek out a brand deal with like urban/anthro or something to furnish parts of the house - or do a collection with them! your taste is great and their design team are really lovely peeps

Totally get feeling overwhelmed by the house, but take it day by day and it will come together! Also, hate that feeling of finishing a good book and picking up a crappy one. It happens too often

as someone said, you could either make the office at the back into a workout space, and make the attic space into the office. or make the attic into an oldschool full library, in conjuction to the one of the first floor. or make the attic into a cinema-ish room. or make the attic the office and make the room at the back of the house into like a seperate open space with glass slide in doors living room space, like those big houses with big garderns for summer, where you can open one side of it all towards the garden. take out the wall in the right corner to fir on the right size another single door to give it a more open feel and have the pillar left there. that of course in the situation that you might need or not a 3rd bedroom for just you 2. and my guess the office would feel better to be in the house? you might start to regret it in the winter having to go outside for it. im an architecture student still, i dont know everything yet, but that would be my tip for it if you want.

i love the house plans! just a thing about the office in the garden area. do you have a plan on how you'd get from the house to the office when it rains? considering you have a lot of items to bring with you. maybe a walkway with a roof would be a good idea. same idea with the parking space assuming you would have it in the font area of your house. anyways, just a suggestion :) am really rooting for you guys to get your dream home!

You really should have read the Edward st Aubyn novels in order. By starting on the third you are missing so much context about the middle aged man - the first is from his perspective aged 9, the second early twenties. Believe me when I say an awful lot happens to him. Possibky you would have disliked them anyway if you feel so strongly but it just feels wrong coming in on that book 3 blind.

This makes me feel like im getting nowhere and that my hard work isn't paying off :'( I'm a year older than Jess and have worked 4 different full time 9-5 jobs already yet there's still no way I could be able to afford a house like that especially in London and with those renovations...... how is it possible that shes able to afford that without ever working a full time job (that we know of) besides youtube and posting a couple of sponsored instagram posts here and there? I am baffled.. maybe I should become an influencer if they are getting paid this much to be able to afford something as huge as this at such a young age!

her family is quite rich, i don't think she bought the house off just by herself. i guess she even explained it in somewhere? maybe they'll pay the family back when they gather the money together. it actually is an investment, even if her mother has bought it for them, they can renovate it and sell it for a muuuuch higher price and pay their debt back to Jess's mother. I'm speculating here, but there is no way they bought the house with their own money.
