It's a very cool experience, when the horse's feet come off the bottom and they are truly swimming, it's like flying on Pegasus.

Good Question....Of the more than 60 guest ranches we have filmed, only one offers the ability to go out on your own, however, they have to know firsthand your riding ability and familiarity with the trails from previous visits. You can't just proclaim you're an experienced rider and head out, you have to earn it so to speak. Basically it comes down to liability issues, riding safety, and insurance regulations that an experienced guide leads on the trails. The ranch that will allow some guests to venture out on their own, conditioned that they are fully cognizant of your riding abilities, is Eaton's Ranch in eastern Wyoming. @@nangritter5630 You are most welcome. I'm sure there are many ranches that would like to provide this experience, but our litigious society and liability issues dictate what they may offer. If someone is an experienced rider, they can alway inquire as to whether advanced rides and trails are available, the ranches try to offer something for all levels of riding experience!
