Competition between resellers at the car boot is just something you have to accept. I used to get annoyed if I saw someone else pick up something I was after but I've been doing it for long enough not to care anymore. If you expand your knowledge you'll still find enough stuff for yourself. Walking with a stick means you are slower to the table and I understand your frustration with that. However, sometimes those who rush around from stall to stall miss something. If you take a slower more methodical approach you might be able to pick up stuff they missed. If mobility is against you, maybe try and make new contacts at the boot sale, and maybe they'll hold stuff back for you? I picked up an at-at at one car boot. It was the only star wars he had on his stall. I asked if he had anymore and he said he had loads at home. We exchanged numbers and I ended up going round his house and buying a car full of toys! Fair enough, that doesn't happen very often but if you don't ask you don't get.

Thanks, I love the story of the At At - which some would disagree - but I feel is the best ever sculpted Star Wars product ever made - was it a 1983 model? I know what your saying is right and will take that advice onboard, the same goes for other advice.. I have never done carboots as a job before, so I kinda never bothered before if I didn't pick up much - and before it was just mainly retro toys I hunted to exchange at toy fairs. So it was just me letting off a bit of steam 😂 - just quit smoking as well so that's, partly why I was being sassy.

@@Flippingwolfresells in total I picked up 3 original At-Ats. 2 were boxed. At the time I had a Citroen C3 Picasso and I filled it! So much stuff -all star wars. It was only a 5 minute drive away too! Personally I think the Millennium Falcon is the best sculpt. Pretty much my favourite toy as a kid so my opinion is slightly clouded. Not as easy to find at boot sales anymore unfortunately.

So saddening to hear that certain people are treating you this way at the booties 😢 Unfortunately, I think there is always going to be a steady flow of tw🤬ts in the field going forward, things have changed. Sounds like you need to adapt your game to your new situation going forward. If they are going after the obvious low hanging fruit, what are they missing in their camera & gaming frenzy? There’s’ plenty more profitable items just sitting there for those that know. Beat them with with your brain & dedication 👍 Expand your knowledge, expand your field 🫶 Future proof yourself & find a safe happy way forward to keep doing what you l🫶ve Great video as always 👏

Thank You for the advice 😀 I assume you have had the same thing. It's ever since I have been hopping around on a crutch 😂 they assume you are weak and will just fold - well Helllll no to that 😅 Very true though, there is soo much stuff out there we miss. What's your car boot like?

I resell but car boots in general are a turn off to me due to the frenzy in the morning etc, I have more luck in charity shops and marketplace so maybe look at these more as hopefully the time issue with your mobility wont count against you as much. I know stuff can cost more but theres still profit to be made.

Like you said you just need to get there earlier and be quicker with your choices, you've got the knowledge. It's like that at all car boots. Still though, some nice pickups

Thanks pal, I appreciate that, could have been a bit earlier as I got there at 6:30. In terms of speed, dragging myself around on a crutch 😂😂 that's something that's difficult atm. Yeah Car Boots are still good and there's some decent bits out there.

Try different car boots. Too many resellers flood some car boots so there is nothing left for other resellers or the general public to buy.

Same everywhere, more and more resellers. Like vultures sometimes, quizzing sellers as soon as they park up. All these KZbinrs sharing information on easy wins, "BOLOs" and niche markets; makes it accessible for everyone and easier to learn about what to buy, and some of these new people are just rude and ruthless. Also makes Sellers aware of what things are worth and they stick up the prices. Just got to accept you won't get everything, adapt and find new niches.......or become a vulture!

Rumour had it they were undetectable - I think in 10 years or so these will be hard to find and may rise in value. I often put away future collectables - will be doing a video on it soon.

With respect you're doing the same thing, you're reselling. Your issue seems to be that other people are getting there before you. This isn't greed it's hard work, it's expanding their knowledge, it's making the deals when you're not. Up your own game don't hate on others.

I can't get around fast, as I am on a walking stick, that's my frustration, I get to the car boot early enough. The fact that people are pushing me out the way, and the fact that I know one of these guys, he has great job 30k a year, where as I am part time working, and it's getting impossible to provide for my family, this is my gripe. Also I have the curtousy to leave some bits behind for others. The other day i landed on some vintage sticker books, another guy looked disappointed as I got there before him, I let him have one the sticker books, its about being a decent human being too. Its all about etiquette, being a gentleman and respect. He literally swept a pile of phones from in front of me, and smirked at me, that annoyed me. I am going to call out selfishness and bad behaviour whenever i see it and not award it - as I think bad behaviour being awarded has become a common thing online.

I didn't mean to sound like I was having a go pal - I think there's enough stuff for everyone to have a slice of the cake at Car boots. But you do sometimes get some resellers who have Bottomless wallets and are extremely greedy.

Yeah I am doing it because I have no choice! My kids are missing out because of my circumstances. I have virtually no salary atm, and employers don't want ADHD people like me because of our quirky character, yet alone someone partially disabled. I know some of these other newbies personally, foolishly even given them advice, some of them have 30k plus jobs a year, and it's the fact they are literally taking everything. I get annoyed

@@Flippingwolfresells You don't know the situations of others. You're calling them greedy when you have no idea why they are reselling. They could be reselling for the dame reasons you are, or paying off crippling debt, or paying for operations they need. If you see other resellers just as greedy while you are some special case who needs the money then you wont get very far with this. The world doesn't owe you anything. You work hard for it.
