Ingredients:
4 medium carrots, sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
2 celery ribs, sliced
2 C. frozen cut green beans
2 large potatoes, cut into cubes
1 whole chicken, cut into pieces (your favorite)
4 bacon strips, chopped and cooked
1 1/2 C. hot water
2 tsp chicken bouillon granules
1 tsp salt
pepper to taste
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp dried basil
2 tbsp olive oil
In a 5 quart slow cooker, layer the first seven ingredients in order listed. On top of chicken, bouillon, salt, thyme, basil and pepper; then use hot water to pour over the top. Do not stir. Crumbs the bacon. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours until vegetables are tender and chicken juices run clear.
