Love the cube steak & gravy tutorial. I’m gonna make that soon. I already got so many good ideas from you I’ll have to put them in rotation. I haven’t had Lima beans since I was a kid but I may try them again. I’m going to make my cube steaks exactly like you showed but I think I’ll add mushrooms towards the end. My husband loves mushrooms. That’ll be good over some rice. Yumm!!

Rice is not a cultural thing but more of a economical thing. During the Depression when money and food were scarce rice became a staple food for large families because it was cheap and fulfilling. Have you ever tried using beef or chicken broth instead water when making your gravy. By the way I hung out in the kitchen with my granny as well. You have a blessed day.

Legacy! Dumplings 101! ...seeing the plates stacked on the table with silverware....how we ate in Mississippi...and how I still do. You know the plates had pink flowers with the country feel...and maybe mis-matched, but always that distinct Southern feel...I still look for those designs & they cost a grip! Lol! God Bless you much! Thanks for your time!😋🤗😍💜...p.s and always Lipton tea
@karenyoung74355 жыл бұрын
I shred some chicken breasts (no skin or bones or dark meat) into the broth, after the dumplings are done. Then I add a stick of butter and a can of evaporated milk and let it thicken up! The cream and butter is what makes it. I could not eat it with skin and bones and dark meat. I could eat half of the pot.! I gotta say I never seen any cubed steak and gravy anywhere in all my 70 years look anything like yours. If it tastes half as good as it looks you need to enter it into a steak and gravy contest. If I had the money I would fund it myself, because I know yours would win hands down. I would give $100 for a pan of that right now and some good bread and butter or a pone of your cornbread. I'm so hungry I could eat the whole pan. Especially the gravy! I gotta go get me something to eat now, but do come back! GOD BLESS!

Hi Mrs. Peggy, everything look so good ! I could just about smell, and tastes those onions and cube steak through my computer screen.😊 I haven't cooked cube steak in a while, but I would make it exactly like you do. I usually wisk my gravy for smoothness. I have never heard dumplings called pastry before. Michigan girl here. But my parents, were from Arkansas and Georgia. My Mother would make her dumplings like you do. I go the bisquick route and make drop dumplings, and add a can of cream of chicken soup to the broth, just to add that extra flavor, it's so good ! I'm going to try your kale salad, with that dressing. I cook by taste too, and don't measure anything. And as you cook, I can see the love, heart and soul going into every meal you make. 🍽

I have seen those biscuits that float on top of the chicken....that ain't right....but yours look so good and I know they will be fantastic. The steak looks wonderful and the beans too. This was a WINNER DINNER!!!!! Hope you are doing well......if you don't remember I take care of my parents and my dad...at almost 98 is sometimes a handful.....dementia is a horror. Hi there gracious lady and hostess. I love your channel but have a terrible time hearing you 95% of the time. Today I missed your intro completely until you walked around to the back of the table to show the meats where you had your cube steak and turkey wing. It is so absolutely frustrating to me that as a person who enjoys watching other people cook, and especially you!... I just want to hear every word of wisdom that you have. I used to be a wonderful cook until I became disabled and now I feel like my hands and my brain are going your way in harmony. It doesn't make me feel frustrated or anxious the way I feel when other Cooks really don't know what they're doing or they'd hurry something too much. Take care.
