Sunday League Football - IGNORED

Hi people. Just want to address a few things regarding this game. As mentioned our opponents aren’t the issue, they’re a good bunch of lads and we look forward to another battle. The stand in ref we were told was qualified but that is neither here or there. The home team are entitled to use anyone, even a player. Had that been the case we’d have offered Troi to do half each with them. That didn’t happen because we were told we were in good hands. That unfortunately didn’t pan out. As for reporting, we marked him low but not being a ref in our league I’m not sure how contact would be made to give feedback. On the topic of showing this as evidence, it’s there for all to see but any chance of having the result turned in our favour won’t happen, it doesn’t work like that. What’s done is done and hopefully it’s one we can firmly put behind us. Thanks for the support!

Smiv I’m glad you can keep a cooler head about this, because this is fucking bullshit. Every game you guys are getting BLATANT decisions not given, and this game literally shows everything you’ve had to deal with every season. As a fan I’m fucking sick of this. It’s not just “oh the ref missed it.” The ref literally looked at troi. And EVERY ref does this to you guys, by just one. Normally I’d be like you smiv, just accepting it. But I’ve never seen so many obvious calls get ignored. Other teams MUST be paying the refs off. If that was true at least there would be an explanation. These refs need to have some fucking pride in their job. They clearly love football because they wouldn’t be refs otherwise. How can they feel good about what they’re doing? They consistently fuck results up with apparently no care in the world. They just collect their check and fuck off. Something more needs to be done than a simple report. These refs need to go. Fuck, I’ll get my license renewed and I’ll go live in England and ref every game I can physically do, just so teams can get the quality reffing they deserve

Palmers FC , I’m a referee, I counted at least 3 yellows, you should be down to 10 men along with their team.. defo penalty to you lads, theirs based on camera footage only thing I can really see Is a minor grab by your player but not enough to go down... are you sure he didn’t issue any cards... the referee doesn’t actually have to “show a card” he can simply inform the player in question “you are being cautioned or sent off” - clearly no reds today as no 1 left although I do count 2 reds in there. But it is possible he may of cautioned players... if he is actually qualified he would know about this and should of had at least 3 yellows in that game minimum

A shame more people aren't like Troi... he had to ref what... 2/3 games in the Reserve video and called it right down the middle, even didn't talk to the Palmers boys to remain unbiased, shame this ref wasn't like that.

MarkFerg I’d argue in one of the games that troi made bad calls, but lie you said, he stayed away from the palmers boys trying to show no bias. He TRIED. Troi takes a lot of pride in reffing unlike any other cunt we’ve seen

Nothing more frustrating than a ref with an agenda. Always a replacement ref, and surprising how often it happens in big games. Cheating, especially from linesman, is the worst part of Sunday League Football. May as well have not turned up for this game, they were never gonna let you win it.

If a referee doesn't show up and a replacement referee can't be found (as in, one from the league), then both teams have to either agree to select a person to for all intents and purposes, become a referee. If you don't agree on a replacement, then the match is postponed with no consequences. Know your rights Smiv, if you don't agree to this person being a referee then you have every right to call the game off.

I've been reffing in the FA Academy League's for a while now and whereas I appreciate these things happen at lower levels, this chap was by far the worst example of a referee I have seen in almost 20+ years in the job at any level. Matt, I would find out the name of this individual and report him to your local County. If he's local then even if he doesn't ref in your league, he'll probably still be registered with that County. May be worth contacting the RA (Referee's association) as well as they may have records of him if he's a member. If the complaint is serious enough, they could enforce that he re-takes (whichever current level he's at) his course again. I know it doesn't get you the 2 points back but if it stops this clown making such decisions in any games he refs in the future then that can only be good for the game! Gives the rest of us a bad name! Anyway, onwards and upwards, still unbeaten! COYP

As a ref, his only mistake was the penalty at the end. The first penalty is not visible. You cant call what you cant see. The 2nd pen he already had the ball off his foot. The amount of pressure he got from the fans impacted him 100%

This is actually too funny. Imagine seeing an offside flag and than allowing play to continue which leads to a penalty. I know it's not Troi's place but man was I hoping he went to the ref after and told him he was offside before the "foul" just to hear his explanation of why it was completely ignored. I think a good system would be if the referee can't show up either each team must supply a ref for a half or do a 2-man ref system who are each responsible for the line and are co refs. This is just sad on another level

Must have been the same ref in our local team's pre-season game (3rd best Danish league, but still). He showed up like 15 seconds before the game should begin, game was delayed 10 minutes because ref realized he'd forgotten his cards! Game turned out very nasty, lots of hard tackles, players shouting at each other & the ref, yet his agenda without cards was clearly "let's keep our voices down and try to talk the problems through, alrite?"

regardless of what goes on the language both on and off the pitch isn't good - for young kids watching you should really set an example - in the leagues I've played in in Lancashire any foul and abusive language on or off the pitch is greeted with a booking even when its not directed at anyone - keep it clean Palmers !!

As a qualified league referee in the Scottish professional league system, in my opinion, he is not a qualified referee. I would send this footage to your local FA for investigation. Local FAs can act on footage given to them. I wouldn’t go as far as calling him a cheat but I would say he was very one sided.

In fairness to him, although yeah, he got a lot wrong, I've told players in futsal and sixes to sub themselves off or take themselves to the sidelines and have their team play a man down until I tell them the player can return, rather than show a second yellow if they're getting heated. It's about the spirit of the game and making sure everybody has a good time and the match isn't marred by unnecessary controversy/aggression. If the whole team is acting up though, they won't be given that courtesy. To be fair we are casual leagues though. We have also seen worse refs on this series, but the fact he just handed it to them in the last couple of minutes is absolutely damning.
