Smiv that message was incredible, and something super important that needed to be shared. I never put anything on my socials and generally the only times people do it is on mental health day. But I'm going to put something from me across all my socials this evening just to spread the word and that it's okay to talk. Well said! I think you're an inspiration for your entertainment and the commentary you provide but also your openness. Keep up the fantastic work. EDIT: I've written the following post across all my socials, after listening to this video. I posted support resources such as the ones in smivs description beneath but I didn't include them in this comment because you may wish to include resources more local to your area and smivs description has some fantastic ones. Thought I would edit my comment to put here in case anyone else wishes to share something similar: I never really put anything on my socials but wanted to share something that I think is important as a reminder to everyone I have on here, which is that if you're struggling mentally, that's okay, it's natural, but PLEASE make sure you reach out and speak to someone as this can help enormously. Whether you reach out to a friend, family member, most importantly someone you trust and someone who will lend a listening ear. If you don't feel you have anyone you can speak to I will leave a range of links, help and support you can access below. My messages are also always open, no matter how close we are or how long ago we spoke, I will always do my best to be a listening ear. These sort of things generally are shared only on world mental health day or when something bad happens to trigger someone to post something like this, but I think we should all be proactive and this is a reminder to everyone I have on here that it's okay to talk, it's okay to struggle and most importantly let's be kind to each other and check up on each other.

After kierans death just felt I’d leave a comment here. I’m 20 now, first started watching palmers as a kid. All the players throughout the years have been part of my childhood and to see one pass away is saddening. Palmers means so much to many of us smiv. You weren’t just entertaining you were creating memories. It’s why we still come back to this day. Rip Kieran ⚫️🟠

Glad you had that talk at the start of the video. I was orphaned 5 years ago almost to the day by my mother's suicide when I was 15 and it's effects have nearly had me do the same at multiple points since. I guess Mum must've thought life would just go on for us but it didn't, and I just want people to know that there are always people out there who love them, that they can talk too, and would miss them. It can feel like suicide is the only solution at times, and I myself have felt that way, but it never fixes any problems for yourself or others - it only creates new ones.

Smiv, as somebody who has suffered from depression for a long time and had some properly dark moments, it is amazing hearing you talk about it the way you did. You've got a big audience here, as you said mostly made up of younger men who are often worried about being seen as "soft" if they speak about their difficulties, and so you putting out the message that it's good to talk, that you need to reach out to the people who care about you, will hopefully make a difference. Keep up the good work, love every video you absolute legend.

Somehow Palmers FC appeared on this Australian's YT feed a few months ago, and I have been watching the new videos ever since because I enjoy amateur football without too many theatrics, but I especially enjoy the light-hearted commentary. In that light, the serious message about mental health in today's video is very poignant and important. You hardly ever know about personal mental struggles other people (men in particular) are going through, and it can be a killer disease. Some very useful advice dispensed here, which has great relevance because it is based on personal experiences. Well done. I'm sure the family of the 17 year old kid who took his own life greatly appreciates it, even when they are going through a personal hell they most likely will never get over.

Palmers have had a rich tradition of having decent keepers, but Tony is seriously challenging for that all-time Number 1 spot. Also lovely words Smiv, if you feel down people, help is out there don't be embarrassed, there is no shame in getting help.....you would ask for help if you couldn't carry a sofa up the stairs....why should weight on your mind be any different.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of that young man…. So sad. I lost one of my best friends to suicide nearly 4 years ago. There was no indication that he was struggling. He had an amazing job, a beautiful wife and child and seemed to be the happiest person I knew. It goes to show that you never really know what’s going on in someone else’s mind. How I wish he picked up the phone and talked to me. I miss him every day.
