Our side always have tough pre-season friendlies. It gets the team into the mind set of playing against tougher opposition. So when the league season starts you are hitting the ground running.

No shame in losing to a team like the Dons, they're a very strong side. Ryan Palmer is an absolute wizard with the ball, it's like the ball is glues to his boot. You definitely put up a good fight against them. I don't think the likes of Hashtag united would be able to cope with them at all.

The team played good, mostly in the second half but the goals you conceded came because of individual errors and also because the attackers had much time to think with the ball without any pressure from the defenders. Recently saw an SE Dons video, remembered you playing them so came back to watch this over and compare it to their other games... Really surprised at how tame this was and impressed with how kindly you treated them. They are a bunch of disgraceful thugs who just want to fight and ruin every game. The way they treat opponents, and more importantly the ref, is horrendous. There's a few who try to keep the lid on things, but even the stupid manager tries to play mind games with the ref acting all nice before games and then treating them like shit.

Big fan of Palmers and everything you do, preseason should be about testing yourselves, don't play easy games you learn nothing about your team or players otherwise. I would add though, whilst I know you are pure Sunday league, if you want to get better training and a non playing manager does make a massive difference, easier send than done though. Keep up the good work and best to both sides this season.

As you say, easier said than done. We're Sunday League, as much as we want to win we're a team of normal guys with families, jobs and other commitments so training is tough to organise. Having said that a handful of player do play in various 6/7-aside leagues midweek for fitness but as for training, getting the lads together proves a tough one
