I had a great aunt and uncle who worked for the CIA. During one of their travels, they brought home a baby orangutan, chimpanzee and two spider monkeys. My great aunt and uncle passed quite a few years ago, but I remember how they would dress them up and have them sit at the table and eat with us. They literally treated them like they were their children...even potty-trained them. The spider monkeys were holy terrors, though, they would tear down her curtains, throw things at each other, etc. Not once did we ever see any type of behavior that would make us uneasy around them. I think it was because they were raised as babies and treated with respect and care.

Love your stories! I’m a new viewer, found your channel because of Longhorn Lester. He was talking about MaryCarl, and as usual he was hilarious. I had to come see what he saw. What an amazing young girl! I’m looking forward to hearing more bird wisdom. My vote for new name: Cog Hill Chicks 🐥

Jason, when you talk about the monkeys, I remember as a young child(I was about 5 yrs old) my parents and aunt and uncle went to the Toledo Zoo in Ohio, and there were several monkeys in the Gorilla House doing the throwing of dung around. My folks tried to lure me out of there so fast. As a young child I was lullagagging around, so my dad flung me over his shoulders and skeedaddled out of there😂😅. I’m excited for the new channel of Brooke and Marycarl’s. Have you thought of possibly letting Marycarl do her own like Dutch does with Hadley? She does hers on KZbin and whenever she feels like doing a snippet, she can do it whether two seconds or five minutes. Just a thought. Love the idea that the Ladies of Cog Hill will be venturing out to complete a vlog. Love your channels! You folks are so awesome, I love following.🥰💕🙏🏻🙋🏼‍♀️

Brooke ; Living Traditions has a deal with their hay ..... the guy cuts the hay and puts it in rolls and they split it 50/50 .... sounds like a deal to me! Also, Deep South has a channel and Wanda started her own last year or so that you might want to watch to get an idea how she does it, it's called Cazy DaZes.

Brooke and MaryCarl's new venture will be SPECTACULAR!!! I cannot WAIT!! I just LOVE your down to earth, common sense plain folks that I relate to! AS far as your videos and lives are concerned, why don't you post them on your own special WEBSITE? I suspect you spent a lot of money to create your own website, so why not just alert us on youtuber and FB (which I refuse to use) that a new video has been posted?

Way back when, in the 1950's, when the Tarzan movies were being filmed here at Silver Springs, Florida, several monkeys escaped into the forest surrounding the attraction. Those monkeys multiplied, and multiplied, until they became a health hazard to residents around the Silver Springs attraction. Ultimately, I think the health authorities captured most of them. I don't know what happened to the monkeys, but they were attacking the people who were going through the park. You used to be able to walk through the park and see the Silver River. You only paid admission if you took a ride on the glass-bottom boats, or the petting zoo. Those glass-bottom boats were really special. Listen, my son bought me a Singer Featherweight (vintage) sewing machine for $50, and that same machine is advertised on e-bay for $675-$800. He also got a Singer 403 sewing machine that was absolutely in pristine condition (also a vintage machine) for $40. Two very good buys! Of course, I still use the machines. I've had these for about ten years now.

Look up mini hay balers. I just saw them on another channel. They look cool and might work for you better and not be as expensive as a regular size one plus you could bale the smaller areas of your property. Doesn’t hurt to look into it. Looking forward to your other channel. I agree that MaryCarl will do great. She’s so smart. Blessings

Those were great deals. Our goodwill has high prices. A local thrift store called Heart and Hand has low prices and there has always been a toy section in it. They help out the community. Sometimes I am active in an something (neopets, delphi forums, IMVU, etc) for a while and then lose interest in it. I do devote most of my free time to my lifelong hobbies.

Good luck with the new channel! You do a decent job of keeping your channel stories independent. There are a few creators that “tie” their channels together (I.e. start a story on channel 1, and force you to channel 2 to get the conclusion), that’s when I’m out! Keep up the great content!

When I was young people smoked in grocery stores, on air planes, malls ... actually everywhere and tossed their butts on store floors, restaurant floors, bathroom floors... butts were everywhere like the world was an ashtray and threw trash out car windows like the world was a trash can! I was raised in a very small rural town and was never around smokers or drinkers so this behavior when we were moved to a city was disturbing, so was the people and the things they said, cussing, name calling... I was asking my mom what is a ??? or what is a ??? because I had never heard these words and I didn't know the cuss words either. It was very hard.

Gaitlyn is sooo cute. I'd love to have a monkey like her too. But Gaitlyn mom says they are a lot of work, especially since she's never caged. They apparently dont act up or as grumpy if they are part of the family everyday. She even sleeps in their bed with them, after she has her snack and brushes her teeth of course. Lol She said it's like having a special needs child 24/7. And they live to be 40 yrs old!

Sorry did not get any message into the live. Joking a possible name of the new channel "Birds of Cog Hill" With the large number of contractors you have been needing in the past year, many of whom have been nothing but excellent, even going above and beyond pure contract requirements. There is of course bound to be some that are greatly disappointing performance. Given the number of tasks completed, it is still great that so few have been a seriously under performer. Can only hope the basics can be sorted and completed soon and new contractor can be found that meets expectations in satisfying way. I believe you have been lucky on the whole given experiences of people I know, on far simpler work than your projects.
