“Sunday Morning” Matinee: “Paradise Square”

The musical “Paradise Square,” which premiered at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in Berkeley, Calif., in 2019, tells a story set in 1863 New York, in the violent Five Points neighborhood, where Irish and Black cultures meet.

I saw this at Berkeley Rep in 2019 when they debuted it with hopes of bringing it to Broadway, then you know....2020. In any case it is an AMAZING show. I sincerely hope it gets past this horrible time for the arts and makes it back to the stage. If it does, go see it. You will not regret it. I plan to see it again if I ever get the chance.

I remember seeing this with my grandma in one of the first performances they did and I told her after the show "This is gonna be on Broadway and we are lucky to be one of the firsts to see this masterpiece" I'm so glad it's getting the recognition it deserves : )

Saw it in Berkeley and it was quite amazing! I can definitely see them changing some things before broadway, but so much of it is already fantastic!
