Pregnancy is tough. Becoming a new mum is incredibly hard (rewarding of course) but your whole identity changes. I have a 3 month old and the best advice I got is to set no expectations for yourself, accept the new changes as you said and do not compare to your old self! This is a new chapter ❤

I needed to see this tonight. I was just telling someone today about how depressing it’s been not feeling like myself and not knowing if I’ll ever be back to my normal highly productive self. Usually I can’t not be doing something. I’m usually a highly motivated person and feel so much joy and reward from being that way. To hear you basically say the same thing brings me comfort knowing I’m not alone. Thanks for sharing! I look forward to hearing more on your pregnancy journey!

Rachel you’ve put your body through a lot. You’ve struggled to get pregnant & with all the meds, transfers, mental health etc respectfully sit downnnnn & relaxxxxxx. Not only are you creating a new life but also a whole new organ (placenta). I’m currently 5 months PP. during my pregnancy I was napping like crazy which was rare for me & the best thing I did throughout my pregnancy was relax & take my time with things (house chores etc). Use this time to relax. Once the baby is here you’ll be a different kind of tired (mom tired. All my momma know what I’m talking about). Cherish these moments & take a step back & breathe.

Yes! Struggle is real! My daughter is eight months and I’ve been reflecting a lot on productivity. I think about her, when I feel tempted to be frustrated that I don’t have the same amount of time. I don’t want her to judge her days purely on productivity. I want her to have joy and peace and to savor each moment. I want her to know she is loved regardless of how much she “gets done” every day. Then if I want that for her, I should work on modeling that now for myself. You’re doing great!! Praising God for this little life beginning!!

I'm a few days out from doing my first IUI, and I started binge watching all of your videos from right before your first IUI procedure to now, and I just want to say thank you so much for the amount of information you gave on these procedures and the whole IVF journey. I learnt SO much from you and watching you go through the process. Seeing you pregnant has given me so much hope that we will be blessed with our rainbow baby soon. You mentioned once that we can sometimes feel during the TTC journey that we need a baby to fulfil us, but we need to realise that God has already fulfilled us, and a baby is just a beautiful addition to our lives 🤍 This opened my eyes so much, so I'm taking a step back and letting God take control. So thank you for your vulnerability and sharing your knowledge and experience. I'm on year 4 of TTC after a miscarriage at 12 weeks. But this is the year, I know it xx

I empathize with you! I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant after infertility and we have a 3 year old German shepherd. I thrive off productivity but I’m also noticing my routine is changing & what I have capacity for is also shifting which can be a hard transition to grasp. Something i’d recommend is to see what areas in your day to day life you’re able to outsource. Even if it’s just to temporarily lighten the load until you figure out how to juggle it all on a routine that works for you now. For example, we plan to put our dog in doggy daycare for at least 3 days out of the week. This will allow us to focus on the newborn and free up a lot of time during the day. It’ll also allow our dog the ability to socialize with other dogs since our attention will def shift to the baby. We also plan to have house cleaners come to deep clean maybe once or twice a month. These are tasks that will be off our plate and will give us more time to adjust our lives to this transition. Eventually, we’ll be able to pick these tasks back up. Hope this helps you too! ❤

You are such a beautiful person I love your videos. Embrace each step of the pregnancy it really is such an amazing journey that only us women get to experience and can really understand what an incredible gift it is to be able to create and bring life into this world. There is nothing like becoming a parent. With respect to not feeling like yourself, be gentle with yourself and remember your hormones are all over the place right now. Growing another human being is a lot of work. Take time for yourself. I remember going through mental and emotional struggles when I was pregnant many years ago. I am now a woman who is going through the next phase of the hormonal change of menopause and once again I don’t feel like myself either so I understand the struggle. Just know we are all here for you. You are going to be an incredible mom. Thank you for bringing us all along on your very personal journey. Sending love ❤️

I also have to vaccum quite a bit as they shed like crazy and I give baths, but even those don’t last long. I think just frequent vaccuming is what helps out with the smell the most.

I resonated with everything you said in your “chair talk” (I think that’s what they should be called) SO much! I am absolutely a person who gages my value by how productive I am so becoming a mother and now pregnant again is one of the biggest life challenges because I have to let that mindset go! (I’ve been a mom for 8 years and still struggle with it) But I have been learning that if we offer up our suffering and pain to Jesus, He will turn it into love for Him, ourselves, and others. With love there’s no room for judgement. He uses motherhood to change us to reflect His image further, the sacrificial and unconditional love, the servant hood, and bearing pain for others. This is all supposed to DEEPLY change us, if it doesn’t, that’s when I think there’s something wrong. So thank you, I needed this reminder to embrace the change and know that through this experience we are becoming more like Jesus. ❤️

Vinny’s gate with the little door made me happy, lol. So cute. Sorry, I called him (her?) Bennett in my comments before. I watch another vlogger, Alexcis in NYC, who has a cat, too. Your banana coffee looked so good. Where did you get it? That Dyson works great-I’d love one. The Antz ants bait/traps work great and yes, removing any sugar/crumbs on your counter and cabinets. So funny about Roma running in the garage. Great idea about the “cat apartment” containing the litter…the one pain about having a cat! Your house is always beautiful & looks immaculate. Enjoy your pregnancy-such a special time. ❤ You are doing great & so inspiring.

Haha- I hate to break it to you, but you have a dog now, which means you have dog smell now too. You live in Florida where it’s super humid- and humidity makes the dog smell come out more- ours smell so much more when they come in from a humid trip outdoors! Nothing much you can do about it other than bathe him regularly, keep up the vacuuming and keep your couch covered and wash those covers regularly. (And yes, his nails are going to destroy that beautiful couch. Enjoy it while it lasts!) Don’t waste your money on the fragrances- they don’t work, and they’re highly offensive to the dog’s sensitive nose. Imagine if someone dumped a bottle of cheap perfume on you that you had no say in choosing… 😒 Just keep up on the bathing and the laundry- that’s all you can do. But don’t worry, you’ll acclimate to the smell in time and find a routine that works well for all of you!

Dust collects so easily. I vacuum a lot(2 or 3 times a week) because of allergies. I know it’s extra plastic but I like the paper towels being individually wrapped. It helps with storing individual paper towel rolls in different places throughout home or for people that store in garage it would keep the rolls from getting dirty before use. Costco stoped individually wrapping them for a bit and a lot of people complained so they started with individually wrapping again.

Hi Rachel! I would say probably the food that he eats plays a lot on how he smells, we have a German Shorthair pointer and I was worried that our home was going to smell like a dog but it doesn’t and I’ve ask family and friends and they can’t believe our home doesn’t smell like a dog! So what we do is give him a bath every 2 weeks, good food we feed him open farm their grain free raw mix kibble plus and farmers dog he loves it and raw milk too! We also have a no shoes rule and that includes dogs 😂 so we wipe his paws every time he goes outside plus his body if he runs or sweats a lot that helps and Apollo our dog doesn’t smell like a dog 😅 I guess what we are doing is helping! Hope this helps! And you’re doing amazing Rachel! Super mom already taking care of your puppy and a soon to be mom! ❤❤ May God bless you!

I have an Australian Shepherd (so long hair and big breed, i guess) and am super sensitiv to the dog smell. First off all, imo the smell depends of what the dog eats. When we stopped feeding puppy food the smell got different and when we started to give raw or cooked meat it got even better. I remember giving him kibble was the worst for his smell. But now I cannot smell anything dogish around him (only when he got wet, and that's SOOOOOOOOO BAD!!!!)

Hi 👋 to help with puppy or dog smell when you bath Roman try to do a blow out after, hard to do if you bath him at home but can if you have a shot vac or you can take him to self wash at petco as they have a blowdryer this helps a ton with keeping dander and shedding down which is part dog smell. For the ants drop some cream of wheat as ants will take back to their home and implode, boom ant problem gone

We have 3 dogs with different fur-types . We wash them once per month max. If you do it more often, their skin gets dry and itchy. Besides washing blankets and dog beds each week (which we do as well) you could think about changing his dog food. I think it could affect the smell as well. But if it’s humid outside, they will always smell more . I think, a dog should not stink, but a little bit of dog smell is normal.
