Bill Biery (RIP) had the warm, friendly baritone voice. One clip on KZbin had him promo'ing an upcoming showing of the "Funny Face" movie over the "Sunday Movie Special" video animation, for example. Roy Whitfield's voice, from my recollection (sharpened by another clip on here), sounded like a cross between Martin Agronsky and a young Jack Webb.

The bumper where they say to "stay tuned for 'Solid Gold'": if you listen closely to the music behind that bumper, it sounds like the music Channel 9 used to promote itself("On the Move") within its first year or so after having relocated from Manhattan to Secaucus. Just take out the bouncy elements of the music and you pretty much have it.

Did you know when WNEW changed their call letters and dropped the Movie Greats format. WNET Channel 13 picked it right up. Ran with it until 2006 and changed it all around.
