THIS IS A REAL TRIP FOR ME AS I ALSO GREW UP IN NYC(BROWNSVILLE SECTION OF BROOKLYN TO BE EXACT) BUT AS I WAS BORN IN 1984 AND REALLY STARTED TO PAY ATTENTION TO T.V IN 1987 THANKS TO WWF SUPERSTARS AND WWF WRESTLING CHALLENGE I DO REMEMBER THE YANKEES COMMERCIALS ON WPIX 11 BUT NOT THE SATURDAY OR SUNDAY AFTERNOON MOVIE COMMERCIALS AND ONE OTHER THING!! AS I GREW UP SOUL TRAIN CAME ON AROUND 10:30 OR 11:30 SATURDAY MORNINGS IN THE LATE 1980'S AND EARLY 1990'S BEFORE MOVING TO 12 NOON DURING THE SHAMAR MOORE ERA IN THE EARLY 2000'S BUT I'VE NEVER SEEN SOLID GOLD WAS IT LIKE SOUL TRAIN OR DIFFERENT LIKE AMERICAN BANDSTAND!! WOULD LOVE TO KNOW!!

Saturday, December 13, 1980. That's when this is from, I looked up the 1980 Independence Bowl on Wikipedia en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Independence_Bowl. And I was born exactly a month and a day later being January 14, 1981.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!! So that opening shares the same music as the Sunday Afternoon Movie. You outdid yourself with this one, Tap. Case finally closed on what the music was for this opening/closing!!!

Also, the graphic animation was done by Dolphin Productions who also design the animation for other WPIX-TV movie packages.
