About the song, and the cars and the years between: a new tradition for me are Sunday dinners and then studio time with the songwriter I used to tour with, in the '70's. He has books of songs written down the years. I am now his muse in a way, as we peruse them before and after dinner. We both were there, when. It's like going through your old family photo album, except musically. They're on the page, or on the iPad and are the songs' records, but then very shortly they live and breathe again. Very comforting. Just saying.

It's always such a joy watching you/your videos Mr. Hickok! Though I'm '60' ('ish!), you remind me of Papa in so many ways. He too was a Teacher, Construction worker, Father, Tutor, Friend, and when he had to be, Disciplinarian (And boy, did I and my three older brothers push him into THAT role, far too many times!) ;-) He began teaching me about firearms when I was four. Yes, '4'. I'd seen him, my older brothers, even Momma (And all their assorted friends, and family), shooting/hunting/coming back from hunts, and had the itch to shoot from my earliest memories. Decades later, now an 'Elder,' still an American Citizen, USMC Veteran, and a person who just enjoys chilling out and enjoying what Life has to offer, when I can? Seeing you enjoying all the many platforms you get ahold of (Yes, I haz the 'Envy!'), and your own laid-back, easy-going manner is truly a marvel. The usual chaos that surrounds this topic (Firearms), is usually utterly absent in your channel, and for that I am truly grateful. Yes, we can't ignore the outside world, but that doesn't mean we have to talk about things in a heated manner, ALL the time! So, 'Thank you,' good Sir!

I bought a k6sx and need to break it in to carry, but the all stainless 357 k6s models are a lot better looking. I bought my two inch k6s never planning to do more than shoot it at the range where I bought it, but as you have found they weedle their way into your every day carry position! I have a three inch k6s in my woods kit too. Frankly I don’t like the new external hammer models. My dad was a business guy, who taught me value investing in individual stocks. Funds are for the fund manager’s benefit. Buy solid stocks and live off of the dividends and pay 15% capital gains rates!
@hickok45 Жыл бұрын
Just my opinion, based on my experience and research, but I stay away from managed funds, for sure. Low cost index funds are the way to go. Dividends are fine as long as a person doesn't get caught up in making all their choices based on dividend distributions. The stock or fund is basically just distributing a portion of the companies value, similar to our selling part of the fund of company stock. All that said, the biggest mistake people make is in NOT investing at all. Which funds, stocks, bonds, etc. is largely just tweaking the portfolio to get the optimal return. Even the person who makes very questionable investments in various funds or stocks is generally miles and miles ahead of the person who puts off investing for "tomorrow." :-)
