Since recording this Sunday Shoot-a-Round, I measured the barrel on this new Shiloh Sharps. Sure enough, I was wrong, or the seller was wrong. The barrel is not 32" long; it's 28" long. This makes sense, because when I handled it at the gun show, it just felt lighter and handier enough that I found it quite attractive.

I have read so many conflicting articles on there being no benefit to using +P ammo in a short barreled revolver, so I was just wondering what your experience has been?

@stevez340 hello sir. Theres a guy here on KZbin that tests a lot of ammo daily. His channel name is Tools and Targets. He does a good bit of tests on revolver rounds using a short or snub nose and the a 4 inch for example. He does a great job and has proven a lot to me on a lot of different ammo.

When I 1st started my "gun" journey, I purchased a Rugar 10/22 stainless. Sunday mornings, I would go to a LOCAL restaurant ( I live in a tourist destination) and eat breakfast at 7am. Then, on to the local county gun range. 50 +/- rounds of 22 and back home by a little after 10 am. Great way to start the day. May be i could get Hickock 45 on . I might need to go get some breakfast!

It really is an addiction. I sat down the first week of January and made a list of all the guns I bought in 2024. I was aghast when I totaled up the prices and realized I had spent far more than I thought I had. And if I could get my hands on a .45-70 like that I'd buy it in a New York minute. I did not get a Kimber but I did add to my snubbie collection. It's a fun addiction, and Life is good. 😀

I always appreciate your video's and find myself in agreement with you. My go to carry gun is a .38 special because its less likely to fail. When I was younger I didn't appreciate nice wood on a gun I liked the synthetic stocks, but as a got older I found I like wood better. Maybe because I worked as a carpenter for many years, but I recently added a Henry big boy in .357 mag with an amazing walnut stock. I take it camping along with my Ruger gp 100 in .357 so I can shoot the same rounds in both.
