Rita, you probably will laugh at this but I’m mesmerized watching you do this. This block is so pretty. Love the buttons. There’s always issues when fixing up a house. Home Depot is my favorite store. ( and Lowe’s) LOL 🤪 Have a great day. 🍁🍁🍁

Thanks, I love the way those buttons look too! It seems like I am Home Depot daily since starting to sell this house! 🧵💕🪡

Rita: I love your work. You have an eye for co-ordinating fabrics and you don't overdo with the embellishments.

Enjoyed watching. I know I will quilt again someday~ I just reached burnout. I never sold them, but did donate a lot to auctions for charities. If I ever were to have grandchildren, then I am sure the love of quilting would come back with a passion. My fabric rest quietly in my craft room, waiting to be awakened :-). Spending my Sunday relaxing. Have a peaceful evening. Best wishes~ Valerie.

Rita, you always amaze me no matter what you create. This is just so stunning. And you are so right, there is no way to get the kind of money out of this that you put into it. Including your time. You are so talented. I am very sorry about all the fiasco with the house. I think it will be such a relief to get this sold. I hope that you start to see some movement soon. Sadly, I hear so many stories about renters destroying places. It seems like it’s either one of two ways, they completely destroy it, or they are so meticulous and and careful about every little detail. Anyway, take a deep breath and you will get through this. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work! Hugs ❤️🤗

Your work is beautiful. Just love it. What I like to use when I want to draw something onto fabric. Is:: I would make a copy of your vintage iron on transfer. I do this a lot with coloring books. Then I have one of the aunt Martha’s hot iron transfer pencils. I simply draw over the copied design then face that down onto my fabric and the design irons down onto the fabric. If I want to reverse the design I simply put the paper on my light box or up against a window and draw with the heat transfer pencil onto the back of the copied paper. And that gives me the picture in reverse to iron down the mirror image on the opposite side. No peeling the plastic off. No washing to get any other type of transfer sheets off. I just find it very simple. I also use a lot of dressmakers transfer paper. I simply put it face down on area where I want to transfer drawing to, put the image you are trying to reproduce on top of the transfer paper, then using a small ballpoint stylus draw over the image pressing down onto your project. It should appear on your project. I will then just turn the image over if I am trying to mirror it on opposite side of your project. Now….all this being said, this is a permanent image. I have various colors of transfer papers and match it to fabric as best as I can and still see the image. But those old vintage transfers were made the same way and were permanent as well. You just stitched over them. But you do have to be careful when drawing so you do not make a mistake. It is there permanently.

That’s a great idea! I’m going to give that a try! I wasn't sure if the transfer pencils were very good. You're right. The plastic is a pain to remove.🪡💕🧵

@ it does depend on your fabric how well the pencils work. But 99 percent of the time it works for me. When it does not I know I will always be able to use the dressmakers transfer paper and a ballpoint stylus.

Thank you so very much! I have wondered about techniques for transfer for a while. I think something like this would be so lovely on clothing if I could figure it out. Will have to give it a think!

Yes, it works pretty well when you can't trace the pattern, but it takes time to pick it out!🧵💕🪡

Wonder if dabbing it with tape after you get it started to come off, maybe a stronger tape like duct tape???
@ritajensen8311
@ritajensen8311 2 ай бұрын
After I read your post, I tried the tape out. The strength of the tape was a little too strong and actually pulled the embroidery out, but it does work. Once I get the plastic loose, it will pick up all those extra pieces. So thanks so much for your suggestion! 🤗🤗🤗

@@ritajensen8311 There is a tape that we nurses used that is more gentle called paper tape. A pharmacy may have a roll to try that. We use it on people with fragile skin sometimes. I am retired but will try and pick some up next time I go to town and remember to look for it
